oh MAN!!!!! Our tally's have been added up for the Month off of the Billfish board and we are completely STOKED to finally see the results!
Oregon Inlet Fishing Center's August 2013 Billfish releases include:
A WHOPPING 1,023 White Marlin!!!!!!
36 Blue Marlin!!!
and 79 Sailfish!!!!!!
That is a grand total of 1,138 billfish caught in 29 days! (because of 2 blow days)
Pretty Work Captains, Mates and Anglers!!! That's a whole lot of rigging, riding, reeling, releasing and RELENTLESSNESS!! Do you see a pattern here? Nothing but RESULTS for these pirates!!! It puts a whole new meaning to ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :)
Okay back to the fishing, Blackfin Tuna fishing was insane today! Over 200 Blackfins took a ride home on ice along with a good 20 Yellowfin. The biggest Yellowfin weighed 63 lbs. There were 30 White Marlin and 2 Blue Marlin releases, 8 Wahoo's, and almost 150 dolphin out of 21 boats! We have 18 boats fishing today Offshore and 7 Inshore/Nearshores going on their AM trips. We still have 1 AM trip available for a Nearshore boat if you call early enough, they leave at 7 and ask you to be there between 6:30 and 6:45. If you can't make that, we still have 3 PM trips open and they leave at 12. Again be there 15-30 mins early if you can.
Nearshore had a little over Bluefish yesterday morning and a handful each of Spanish,26 Sea Mullet, and some Triggerfish.
Inshore we've got 2 AM trips open and 3 PM's available still. They had a limit of Speckled Trout, 31 Triggerfish, 12 Gaffer Dolphin and 3 Cobia's, One weighed 65 LBS!!!
