SATURDAY 10-12 WAHOOOOO
Friday morning our guys got up and at 'em with all intentions of going fishing like they usually do, taking the same ol route through the crack under the bridge and making their way out the inlet. Instead of the usual easy normal way, the guys came to a screeching halt when they realized the sand had kicked up under the bridge and only gave 4-5 feet of water!!! Our boats need at least 7ft to remain in the safe zone, so this got them nowhere but turned around and headed right back home. Talk about a stressful day for our Captains, a lot to think about and a lot of figuring things out. Needless to say they were on the phones all night contemplating with each other their next move. Some decided to take the route less traveled down the sound to Hatteras Inlet and some managed to get lucky and follow the dredge out. It was a smart but risky move on their part but the day paid off for them! We had some great fishing. The Wahoo bite was going off so the ride home was a nice satisfied one. Between the government shutting down at the beginning of our fall season, our marina being shut down, our rent fees at other marinas piling on top of existing rent fees, nor'easter after nor'easter and no water under our bridge, I think its safe to say we are SURVIVORS!!! Yep! We got this!
