NEAR-SHORE FEATURE: CAROLINIAN

Feb 23, 2016

Legendary world class sportfishing for over 50 years is the best description for Captain Tony Tillett and The Carolinian. Captain Tony Tillett is part of the Outer Banks renowned sportfishing and boatbuilding Tillett family. At the early age of nine, Captain Tony took his first fishing party to Oregon Inlet for channel bass fishing. Not too long after that, at the age of 12, Captain Tony was guiding fishing parties to the inlet himself. Captain Tony became a full-time charter captain in 1962 and began his career as captain of the Carolinian. During the past few years, Captain Tony skippered the Fin Planner in our Off Shore fleet. Beginning in 2016; however, Captain Tony has decided to shift his skills and expertise to our Near Shore charter fleet and is now, once again, the proud captain of the Carolinian. The experience and knowledge that Captain Tony possesses will definitely ensure you and your party an eventful and rewarding fishing expedition. The Carolinian is a gorgeous 40 foot sportsfisher built by Warren O'Neal. The Carolinian is powered by 2 GM Detroit engines and has 4 relaxing chairs in the cockpit. The boat is equipped with all of the latest communication and electronic equipment, including radar. The salon is spacious and comfortable to make certain you are at ease during your ride to and from Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. As with all of our Near Shore charters, you can fish a half day or a full day on the Carolinian. Chartering a fishing trip with Captain Tony on the Carolinian will pretty much assure that you will have the fishing trip of a lifetime. You can book The Carolinian by calling us at Oregon Inlet Fishing Center at 1-800-272-5199. You can also book your fishing excursion on-line at oregon- inlet.com. Note: Due to the fact that the 2016 season has not picked up yet, pictures are from Captain Tony's 2015 catches on the Fin Planner.
