HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!!

Jun 21, 2013

It is officially SUMMER!!!!! YAY!!! Going fishing today was a great way to celebrate the day!!! It was kind of a crazy report! We had some excellent Spanish mackerel fishing on the AM and PM trips along with some nice bottom fishing on a couple of our boats, including the Miss O.I.! There were some speckled trout and flounder caught and some really nice sea mullets! Sea mullet have been a local favorite around here for a very long time and when you hook up to a big one it is pretty exciting!! Its nice to hear that they were out there today! We had our Offshore boats come in at all times it seemed like, some were out there fighting their monster Big Eye Tunas that we all got to enjoy seeing! The Citations for those were 217, 207, 186, 166, and 166 pounds!!! That alone is 942 pounds of fish!! We can't leave out the 45 lb Wahoo and there were also 3 Blue Marlin, 2 White Marlin, and one Sailfish released today! A lot of big fish were churned up out there! The gaffers were, as always, a gorgeous sight all laid out on the docks this afternoon. I think the most gaffers caught on one boat was 45. The tunas were still all mixed in every catch but some got their limit and some got a mix. It was a hot summer day around here and it only gets us that more excited for the summer months ahead of us! If you are ready to go fishing please do not wait too long to put down your deposit, the days fill in faster than you think they would and there have been a lot of people around waiting for their turn to go. Give us a call toll free at 1.800.272.5199 or locally at 1.252.441.6301 and let us get you on a boat and have some fun!!! The headboat is another great way to go fishing and especially if you are looking to take the entire family. You can pick up your tickets at our booking desk 7 days a week or reserve them for the week of your vacation anytime online. Look for our updates via Facebook & Twitter @FISHOIFC See you at the dock!
