FISHING-REPORT-10-24-12

Oct 24, 2012

This wahoo fishing is just extraordinary. One member of party was impressed with the agressivness he say in these fish today. It was like chumking bait just laying still in the water was smashed by a big wahoo. I read in a fishing magazine some tiume ago that wahoo are not a schooling type fish, that the only place they school is the Gulf of Mexico. Here today boats have gone from one concentration to another that looked a lot like schools catching wahoos. What is happening here now will always be memorable. Hopefully it will continue and happen again next year. As far as size is concerned a nice catch consisted of a 53 pounder a 50, a 48 and a 43 the rest of the catch were 30 pound class. There was a white marlin caught and released. Several yellowfin, blackfin tuna and scattered dolphinn were caught. A 73 pound was caught lots were citations over 40 pounds.Tailor bluefish were plentiful for inshore boats. Open boats caught some big speckled trout another open boat caught sheepsheads and trout.
