FISHING-REPORT-10-19-12

Oct 19, 2012

Off shore boats brought in a good mixture of yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna and wahoo. A fair number of billfish were caught and released. In one case a picture was taken of a beautiful sailfish that was carefully and quickly released. One of the wahoos weighed 67 pounds. Sharks were not too bad today but present as the remains of one nice yellowfin shows. It is remarkable how they manage to get every bit of the better part of the fish. One mako was caught. Blackfin tunas still outnumber yellowfins but the number of yellowfins is increasing. Inshore boats caught false albacore and tailor bluefish. Open boats caught speckled trout. An allday trip went in the ocean caught and released a few sharks came back in ran into a lot of nice size speckled trout, stayed a little late catching 2.5 to 3 pounders.
