FISHING-REPORT-10-01-12

Offshore marlin and sailfish were caught and released including a grand slam with one blue marlin, three white marlin and five sailfish. Several good blackfin tuna catches and two yellowfin tunas. One of the grand slam's blackfins weighed 23 pounds. There was not room to include the whole grand slam's catch in one photo so the slam and blackfins are on separate photos. Dave Pusateri from Mt. Morris,Pa. caught one white marlin and two sailfish, Chad Wendell from Pennsylvania caught a bluemarlin and 1 sailfish, James Wendell from Holbrook, Pa. caught 1 white marlin and a sailfish Bill Moats from Wind Ridge caught one white marlin and 1 sailfish. Many of the tuna catches included either white marlin or sailfish.All the billfish were released. Inshore boats caught tailor bluefish and spanish mackerel. An allday inshore trip caught an amberjack in addition to tailor bluefish and spanish mackerel. One open boat on an allday trip caught some beautiful spreckled trout, released puppy drum and caught tailor bluefish.The speckled trout catchers were John Diel from Quakertown, Pa. and Lee Diel from Milton, Pa. Another open boat caught flounders and tailor bluefish. Recently there has been very good flounder fishing when the tide has been right. Miss Oregon Inlet caught sea mullet, pigfish, pinfish and puffers.
