FISHING-REPORT-09-17-12

Offshore boats varied widely in what they caught. Several boats concentrated on billfish and did very well catching and releasing blue marlin, white marlin and sailfish. School size dolhin were caught in good quantity.Several boats had both billfish, dolphin and tuna. As a sign of what is coming soon good size yellowfin tunas are replacing blackfins. Inshore boats caught spanish mackerel, tailor bluefish and bonitas. Some open boats caught speckled trout others caught grey trout and tailor bluefish. One boat on an allday trip caught triggerfish, sea bass, flounders and a 44 pound cobia. Miss Oregon Inlet caught a variety of fish including lots of sea bass.
