FISHING-REPORT-09-07-12

Sep 7, 2012

Sailfish were active offshore. Some blackfin and yellowfin tunas were caught. Dolphin and wahoo were scattered. One boat ran out of sailfish flags and had to use white marlin and blue marlin flags as substitutes. The convention in such cases is to place blue marlin flags on the top followed by white marlin flags and finnally sailfish flags. The first picture is an example. The members of the party are Rick Wilson from Bloomington, Maryland,John Loewendick from Cresaptown, Md.,Gary Cecil from Cumberland, Md., Denny Brodwatere from Cresaptown, Md.Scott Bowman and D0n Rentz111 from Richfield, Oh. . Most of these men received citaions for the sailfish they caught and released. They had a lot of bites and only two sails managed to win the battle by pulling off.or breaking the line. An inshore boat caught amberjacks, dolphins and false albacore. An other inshore boat caught spanish mackerel during an afternoon trip. Two open boats had very good grey trout (weakfish) fishing. The best either had seen in several years. One of the boats reported releasing around thirty and keeping their limit of nice size fish. They had a small cobia on that looked like about thirty pounds but lost it. there are also a lot of flounders reported to be in the sounds. The third picture is the same as the first picture taken at another time to check the camera. Thanks to Kimberly Bowman for pointing out the errors made
