FISHING REPORT 08-19-16

Aug 19, 2016

We're back to the fish being the top story today and we've got fins on Friday!! Good numbers of hefty yellow-fins coming out of the boxes, with some great trophy citation weights! Congrats to Ben Shook with an 86 pound yellow, Charles Shuman for his 74 pound yellow, and Rebecca Miller-Shuman for her 70 yellow! Congrats to Any Schmalzer and Ben Shook for blue marlin releases, and to Gary Pierce, Gabriel Teel, Paul Teel III, and Bradly Brewer for sailfish releases! Congrats to Paul Teel Sr for his white marlin release! Congrats to the Miller group for Grand Slam with 1 blue marlin, 1 white marlin and 5 sailfish releases! Of the boats reporting in, there were 4 white marlins, 3 blue marlins, and 14 sails released today. Anglers also pulled in dolphin, mostly gaffers, and a few tilefish.

Near-Shore anglers had catches of amberjack and a few sea bass, with a few spanish mackerel.

In-Shore anglers had catches of cobia, tilefish, and limits of speckled trout on both morning and afternoon trips.

The Miss Oregon Inlet Headboat had good fishing morning and afternoon with anglers reeling in nice keeper flounder, sea bass, sea mullet, sea robin, croakers, lizardfish, pigfish, pinfish, and spot.

Come on down and let us take you fishing! Give us a call at 1-800-272-5199 and we'll be happy to get you on the water with any of our captains!

Special shout-out for our very own Captain Charles Haywood and the crew of the 'Rigged Up', for a solid 2nd place finish in the 33rd Annual Pirate's Cove Billfish Tourney! Official tournament results pending at time of our report.
