FISHING REPORT 08-17-16

Aug 17, 2016

Weather is often the topic of the day, but as August progresses, we talk about billfish and drum and dolphin and are there any tuna? Well, yes, there is tuna showing up on the docks. Multiple boats brought in a few yellow-fin today and some black-fin. There were also several wahoo and dolphin with a few being gaffers, and some limits of tilefish. Congrats to Kayla Clark, Daniel Crosby, Patrick Healy, and Travis Spring for sailfish releases! Super work!

Near-Shore anglers had an interesting day of fishing, bringing in good numbers of spanish macs, bluefish, amberjack, and albacore. Congrats to Daniel Brown for his trophy citation Tilefish, weighing in at 10 lbs! Great job!

In-Shore anglers were busy as well, catching lots of big red drum, most were catch and release. Anglers also had catches of shark as well. Congrats to Amy Holtz for her trophy citation cobia, weighing in at 48 pounds. Awesome!!

A couple of private boats weighing in here at the fishing center received trophy citations for a 40 lb cobia and a 68# cobia. Nice!!

The Miss Oregon Inlet Headboat had catches of flounder, sea mullet, trout, puffers, sea bass, croakers, pigfish, and pinfish.

We would love to take you fishing! What could be better than being on a boat on a workday? Give us a call and let's get you booked 1-800- 272-5199.
