FISHING REPORT 08-16-16

Aug 16, 2016

Another beautiful day with lots of fishing going on!! We've got to talk about the red drum action! Our Near-Shore and In-Shore anglers have enjoyed the fight of their lives on light tackle today! Members of a Near-Shore make-up charter racked up nearly a dozen trophy citations for their catch and release drums! Congrats to Kurt Graybill, Jacob Harvey, Phillip Harvey, Phillip Lucas, Eric Lynde, Connie McIndoe, and Ken McIndoe! Nice work! Congrats to Nick Hinkle for his trophy citation cobia, weighing in at 57 lbs! Congrats to Clayton Sorah for his trophy citation sheepshead, weighing in at 9 lbs. Clayton caught his sheepshead on a trout jig with 10 lb test and only 4 ft of water - pretty amazing catch!

Anglers on other Near-Shore charters also pulled in good numbers of spanish macs, bluefish, and amberjack as well. Anglers on other In-Shore charters had catches of very nice speckled trout, amberjack, and tilefish. There were also several catch and release stripers and red drum for these anglers.

Off-Shore anglers were busy pulling in limits of dolphin and tilefish today. There was also 1 yellow-fin tuna brought into the docks. Congrats to David Shaw for his shark release! The billfish action was hot again today! Congrats to 13 anglers releasing sailfish - Joseph Belgrade, Ryan Cole, Sean Cole, Grayson Harrison, Erin Little, Kelsey Little, Brady Matchett, William Meeker, Robert Rylands, Nick Shaw, Jessica Smack, Robert Smack, and Lewis Tiller. Congrats to Robert Joralemon and James Smack for blue marlin releases. Congrats to Robert Weitzel and Robert Burns for the white marlin releases. Great Job!!

The Miss Oregon Inlet Headboat had great catches today of flounder, bluefish, gray trout, sea mullet, spot, pigfish, pinfish, sea bass, sea robin, and puffers.

Give us a call and let us take you fishing!! The action can't be beat and you will surely be entertained. 1-800-272-5199!
