FISHING-REPORT-08-15-12

Aug 15, 2012

Offshore boats had good catches of yellowfin tuna, dolphin, blackfin tuna and billfish with scattered wahoos. Billfish once again were dominated by sailfish. With the warm water school dolphin showed up in inshore and open boat catches. Miss Oregon Inlet caught croakers, puffers, sea robbins and grey trout in the morning, croakers, sea mullet and puffers in the afternoon. In shore trolling produced tailor bluefish and spanish mackerel. More bluefish than mackerel. Open boats had good speckled trout fishing some on flyrods. One of the boats participating in the Pirate's Cove tournament is leading with 9 sailfish. The wahoo in the first picture weighed 44 pounds.
