FISHING REPORT 08-09-17

Aug 9, 2017

Yesterday was a no go with one of those lovely weather patterns the Outer Banks is known for. Today, however, produced some pretty good billfish catches, some yellow-fin tuna, black-fin tuna, and big-eye tuna. Maybe these odd patterns are responsible for the uptick in wahoo catches this season. Congrats to Tighe Watson for an amazing 51 lb beauty destined for the dinner plate! Congrats to Brian McShane for a fantastic 135 lb big-eye tuna! Nice work! Congrats to Emily Bracher for earning trophy citations for white marlin releases today! Emily and Brayden also landed a mahi as well today and were looking forward to dinner! Congrats to Riley Markham, Kade Pekarick, Cody Slade, & Matthew Slade on their white marlin releases! Awesome work!

Near-Shore anglers were enjoying good fishing, both morning and afternoon trips today! Catches included triggers, bluefish, spanish macs, albacore, and amberjacks. There were also a few red drum releases as well.

In-Shore anglers are catching some great speckled trout, flounder, and sea mullet. There were also catch and release of red drum and sound stripers.

Anglers aboard the Miss Oregon Inlet had good fishing on both trips, as well. Good keeper flounder were coming over the rails as well as sea mullet, pufferfish, pinfish, sea bass, sea robin, lizardfish, and pigfish.

There are still trips available on In-Shore, Near-Shore, and Off-Shore, as well as the Miss Oregon Inlet. Give us a call and let us get you booked 1-800-272-5199! If you'd like to be part of a Make-Up Charter, as available, log onto our homepage and click on "Book A Make-Up Charter" to submit your request today! Boats are available!
