FISHING-REPORT-07-18-12

Offshore boats caught yellowfin tuna, dolphin and wahoo. Citations included three white marlin, two sailfish and a 44 pound dolphin. Inshore boats turned from trolling for tailor bluefish and spanish mackerel to wreck fishing for amberjacks. There were a lot of amberjacks, a kingmackeral and a wahoo were caught as well. Some tailor bluefish and spanish mackerel were also caught.Open boats had good speckled trout fishing. Half day trips caught speckled trout in the morning and two drum, speckled trout and one drum in the afternoon. An allday trip caught a 25.5 pound false albacore and four drum. One boat caught and released sharks then turned to speckled trout fishing, doing well on both. Miss Oregon Inlet caught croakers, spots and flounders.

Oregon Inlet Fishing Center is open Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. & Friday-Sunday 4:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. weather permitting. Fuel Dock does not open until 8:00 a.m.
