FISHING REPORT 06-20-17

Jun 21, 2017

Tuesday was quite the wild weather day! Bright and sunny at sunrise then overcast then torrential downpours, then bright and sunny! Welcome to the Outer Banks where it's not "wait 5 minutes and the weather will change" it's "wait a second". But, the fishin's good!! Boats brought in some really good numbers of very nice yellow-fin tuna, including trophy citations for Cameran Hitchen - 71 lb, Jordan Biggs - 72 lb, and Will Smithson - 78 lb. Luke Lapierre brought in a chunky big-eye, weighing in at 138 lbs and earning him a trophy citation, as well. And, let's talk about some wahoo! There were some nice ones crossing the scales, with Brad Chapman earning a trophy citation for his 42 lb prize! Great work! There were also good numbers of mahi and some billfish releases.

There were also some good catches coming off of the Near-Shore boats, as well. It was a mixed bag coming into the fishboxes. Anglers pulled in spanish macs, bluefish, and triggers.

Anglers In-Shore had some good reel action, with some catches of very nice speckled trout, flounder, and drum. The weights on the specks have been pretty impressive this year compared to last and with good numbers also.

Anglers aboard the Miss Oregon Inlet have been working the inlet pretty well and seeing catches of flounder, spot, bluefish, croaker, pigfish, pinfish, perch, and some very nice sea mullet.

Ready to step off land for a bit and enjoy some of the finest fishing the state offers? To take a ride out with any one of our captains, give us a call 1-800-272-5199 or visit our homepage www.oregoninlet.com to book online.
