FISHING REPORT 06-20-12

Jun 20, 2012

One of those days in which tuna were very active on the surface but were disinclined to bite. In some cases birds added a complication by going after the baits. Water condtions were affected by a recent storm. It was pointed out by a mate that last year tuna fishng got very good around the beginning of July and continued through September. It looks like this yeasr could be a repeat of last year tuna wise with both yellowfins and blackfins. Two white marlin and a sailfish were caught and released. Inshore boats caught tailor bluefish and spanish mackerel. Two inshore boats caught trigger fish, black sea bass, two cobias and a dolphin bottom fishing on an all day trip. Open boats depending on where they fished had a good day on speckled tout or cobias. The open boats tended to have all day trips enabling them to further their range and options. Two white marlin and a sailfish were caught and released.
