FISHING-REPORT-06-13-12

Jun 13, 2012

Lots of beautiful yellowfin tuna caught today at the Gulf Stream. Citations included Babe Outtrim from South Dakota with a white marlion release, Frank Lecrone with a bigeye tuna weighing 184 pounds, Debra McComes with a 196 pound bigeye and James Eckenrode with a 174 pound bigeye. Inshore boats caught tailor bluefish and some good size spanish mackerel. An all day inshore trip included some bottom fishing where they had a good catch of trigger fish to add to the blues and spanish they caught trolling. Three open boats scored well on speckled trout, another caught a couple of cobias, one large the other a little less than average for this fish that can be very big and a some false albacore. Miss Oregon Inlet caught croakers, spots and sea mullet. The sea mullet actually a northern king fish are excellent eating.
