FISHING-REPORT-06-11-12

Gulf Stream tuna fishing on the whole produced good catches of good size yellowfin tuna, some specatular bigeye tunas, a blue marlin and a white marlin catch and release. The white marlin was estimated at around 50 p[ounds and around 60 inches in length. The bigeyes in the picture weighed 165, 175 and 200 pounds. Another bigeye weighed 223 pounds. Inshore boats had very good tailor bluefish fishing in the morning. They caught bluefish and spanish mackerel in the afternoon. All day trips that included bottom fishing produced good size triggerfish and black sea bass along with bluefish and spanish mackerel. Some big bluefish were caught in the afternoon. A 50 pound cobia was caught. Some false albacore were included in inshore catches.. Open boats had very good speckled trout fishing in the sound. Miss Oregon Inlet caught sea bass and pigfish. Gary Martin from St. Albns, WV.got a citation for the 200 pound bigeye tuna that he caught.Daniel Miller also from ST. Albans got a citation for the 165 pound bigeye tuna that he caught. Chip Clark from Marysville,Tn got a citation for the 223 pound bigeye that he caught. Samuel Plascik from Dover, De. got a citation for the 145 pound bigeye that he caught. Brian Miller from Crownsville, Md. got a citatin for his white marlin catch and release.
