FISHING-REPORT-06-08-12

A wide variety of good catches at the Gulf Stream. One boat caught and release two blue marlin and had some good size yellowfin tuna. Another boat caught three bigeye tunas weighing 114,195,and 122 pounds. Two other Bigeye tunas brought in weighing 100lbs and 189lbs. Several limits of gaffer size dolphin were caught. A pair of white marlin were caught and released on one boat along with 5 yellowfin tunas and 2 dolphin. Nearshore boats had good spanish mackerel, bluefish fishing and 56lb cobia. Open boats had some beautiful speckled trout. There have been a lot of speckled trout that were under the legal limit size but one boat had a nice catch and only threw back two. One open boat caught three cobias and some spanish mackerel. Paul Lemon from Glouster, Va. got two citations for blue marlin releases. Danny Day from Mount Airy, Md. got a citation for the white marlin catch and release. A private boat weighed in at the fishing center's weighing station a nice 54 pound cobia.
