FISHING FEATURE: ROCK SOLID

Feb 16, 2016

Again...Voted BEST OF THE BEACH IN BEST CHARTER BOAT CATEGORY for 2015! Rock Solid and Captain Aaron Kelly. You would be hard pressed to find another Captain on the Outer Banks that loves to fish more than Captain Aaron. A family man he is with 5 beautiful children, but I believe if Captain Aaron could have his family with him, he would never stop fishing. Rock Solid and Captain Aaron Kelly are part of our In Shore Charter Fleet. The In Shore charters fish in the backwaters and also in the ocean a few miles out. Captain Aaron is an expert in light tackle inshore fishing. He will assure you a fun-filled day of fishing and is exceptional in finding you fish. Rock Solid Fishing was founded in 1999 by Captain Aaron and he has 3 boats in his fleet, running over 500 trips per year. Once graduated from college, Aaron obtained his USCG Captain's license and could not wait to be on the water full-time. Whether you are a first-time or a life-long angler, Captain Aaron aspires to make sure your fishing trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Rock Solid and Aaron go where the fish are biting. And fish should beware because Captain Aaron is an expert at finding the fish. While fishing on Rock Solid you could expect to catch, Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack, Blues, Red Drum, Puppy Drum, Flounder, Sheepshead, Tautogs, Striped Bass and Cobia, among other species. Rock Solid is a 27 foot center console fishing vessel equipped with a tower. The fishing boat has a cell phone, VHF, depth sounder, GPS and a 4KW radar for weather tracking and for pin pointing the location of birds. A 315 Cummins diesel engine powers the Rock Solid to give you a smooth, comfortable trip to and from the fishing destinations. Rock Solid has been fishing out of Oregon Inlet Fishing Center for over 14 years. After fishing on Rock Solid, Barton gives the following review, "We went on an all day Outer Banks in shore fishing charter called Rock Solid Fishing and had an awesome time. Captain Aaron Kelly knew all the OBX fishing spots and my son caught a really big cobia. Although I had gone fishing plenty of times, Captain Aaron was really friendly and helped everyone else that hadn't been fishing in a boat before. Great time, we highly recommend Rock Solid Fishing at Oregon Inlet Fishing Center." You can read Captain Aaron Kelly's In Shore fishing articles each month in Coastal Angler Magazine. Aaron and Rock Solid have been voted Best of the Beach in the Best Charter Boat Category in 2012, 2014 and 2015. Captain Aaron is definitely a fisherman at heart and you can follow his posts on Facebook at Rock Solid Fishing and also check out his website at rocksolidfishing.com.
