FISHING FEATURE: POACHER

Feb 9, 2016

Let Captain Devin Cage and The Poacher take you and your party on an exciting day of inshore sportfishing action or deepwater bottom fishing. You can fish a half day or a full day with the Poacher. The range of fish species caught on our Near Shore charter boats is massive; therefore, you should expect to catch a variety of fish with Captain Devin at the helm. Striped bass, cobia, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, king mackerel, tilefish, seabass, grouper and amberjack are among some of his catches. Captain Devin has over 25 years of experience fishing the stunning waters of North Carolina. Captain Devin has also fished South Carolina, Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, Africa and the Bahamas. He received his USCG license in 1987 and has owned and operated the Poacher for over 9 years. In 1999 a fisherman aboard the Poacher reeled in the largest cobia caught in the State of North Carolina for that year, weighing in at 90 pounds. Also, the current North Carolina State Striped Bass record was caught aboard the Poacher with Captain Devin. The Striped Bass weighed in at a hefty 64 pounds. Young or old; experienced or novice; Captain Devin and his mate Russell Long will be sure to put you on the fish and make certain that your experience is one you will not soon forget. The Poacher is a 42 foot sportfisherman powered by a 450 horsepower Cummins diesel engine. The plush, enclosed cabin includes a microwave, sun shade and other amenities. The Poacher is loaded with the finest tackle for your fishing needs along with modern navigation and communication electronics and 42 mile Furuno radar. Stay on top of Captain Devin's latest fishing adventures on his website at poachersportfishing.com or follow him on Facebook. Booking a Near Shore trip on the Poacher is as easy as making a phone call to Oregon Inlet Fishing Center at 1-800-272-5199.
