FEATURE REPORT: WAVE RUNNER

Jan 29, 2016

OFF-SHORE FLEET

Very few captains can claim the titles of boat builder, owner, and captain of their vessel as Captain Brian White does. Captain Brian grew up in Henderson, NC, fishing on Kerr Lake and here on the beach, knowing that one day, he would make his love of boats and fishing work for him. After graduating high school, he moved to Hatteras and began his career as a mate, eventually moving up to captain of a 56 foot vessel, fishing Florida and Bahamas before settling in Manteo to make his own charter boat business a reality. Captain Brian currently holds a USCG 100 ton Master license. Captain Brian also served as a boat builder's helper, and through that experience, he developed a passion for boat building. Although he encountered a great deal of skepticism of his solo boat building abilities, he has a very large orange and white reminder at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center that he did it his way and it works!

Few things can compare to the satisfaction and pride in a job well done, and the "Wave Runner" is certainly well done! As the longest boat in the fleet, "Wave Runner" measures in at 64 feet and is loaded with features to make your excursion safe, comfortable, and convenient. The bridge has an impressive array of full navigational and communications electronics at the captain's fingertips. She is powered by 2 Detroit engines, whisking you away to the Gulf Stream at a cruising speed of 25 knots. The "Wave Runner" salon is one of the largest in the fleet with 2 air conditioners blasting on those hot summer days, plenty of comfortable seating/bunk space, media components, a convenient food prep area with microwave and refrigerator, and a well- maintained restroom. Out on the deck, Captain Brian customized the space with the group in mind. You won't find the usual "3 in the seat 3 on their feet" routine on the "Wave Runner". In addition to the 3 fighting chairs, he crafted bench seating for the remaining 3 anglers to rest and ride, keeping all members of the party together, if they choose. Top-of-the-line gear and choice baits will keep you ready to fulfill your dream of hooking your next fish story! You will also have years of knowledge and experience on the deck with First Mate, Gunner Jones. With his skills and techniques, you are sure to have your most memorable day ever, on the "Wave Runner"!

You can visit with Captain Brian and his Best Mate, Fisher White (if school's out), at one of the many boat shows he's participating in over the winter months, at a convention center near you! For a listing of the shows or for more information, visit Captain Brian's website at . You can also find "Wave Runner" on Facebook at ng/?fref=nf .
