Big Day for Big Eyes!!

May 12, 2018

It was certainly a beautiful day on the water, with anglers greeted by an amazing East Carolina sunrise!  Fishing was definitely a mixed bag today with yellow-fin tuna, mahi and many were gaffers. The big story was the big-eye tuna trophies coming in! Congrats to Allen Doyle for 116 lb catch, Douglas Clow for 153 lb catch, Doug Gossett for 108 lb catch, Will Mausteller for 110 lb catch, Pamela McGovern for 107 lb catch, Katie Roberts for 111 lb catch, Troy Williams for 153 catch, and a big congrats to Anthony Zydlewski for 200 lb catch, with a fight lasting at least 2 hours. Nice work!!  Congrats to Samuel Fox for his 81 lb yellow-fin tuna and to Hunter Nelson for his 72 lb yellow-fin tuna! Awesome job!!  There was also a blue marlin release, as well!! Nice work McNulty group!!

Anglers fishing in-shore enjoyed a great day on the water, as well, pulling in good numbers of blue-fish and a few anglers released some nice speckled trout.

Anglers aboard the Miss Oregon Inlet enjoyed some good fishing today with good numbers of sea mullet, sea bass, and flounder coming over the rails. Just a touch early for the good keeper flounder, but those days are coming and you don't want to miss out!! Book your tickets today www.missoregoninlet.com or call 1-800-272-5199 to purchase with a credit card. Advanced purchase is recommended.
