Another Mixed Bag!
Just an absolutely gorgeous day on the water for our anglers today! On Mother's Day eve (did you catch that fella's?), all off-shore boats were enjoying this great spring day and pulling in a variety of catches. Congrats to Walter Crenshaw for his 105 lb big-eye tuna and to Noah Smith for his 111 lb big-eye tuna. We had a few near-misses for trophy citation yellow-fin tuna and mahi. Anglers also pulled in some nice size tile fish and a few black-fin tuna. Anglers aboard a couple of private boats came in for an official weighs of tautog and also collected a trophy citation for a 112 lb big-eye.
Anglers in the near-shore enjoyed excellent bluefish action today, with some spectacular catches! Some private anglers reported some very large bluefish in the surf being landed today, as well.
Miss Oregon Inlet had its first keeper flounder of the season today, measuring in at 16.5"! Captain Randy and crew were pleased to host Boy Scout troop members from Tidewater Council today. These young men were spectacular and we thank them for a great trip!! Come back again soon!!
