Wednesday was a bit of tough fishing for our anglers. Just a few of the yellow-fins coming out of the boxes today. Anglers on spinning rods were jigging and popping for the blue-fins today and left some big ones in the deep blue for another catch.

Today is the day that the fish bait is delivered all over the OBX. Fishing captains in all the local marinas are patiently waiting to pick up their bait orders and preparing for an awesome season to come. Excitement is in the air at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. We are stoked for a safe and successful season with a bountiful catch!
The winds are 20 to 25kts with gusts up to 30kts. Needless to say, Today is a no sail day.
Monday was absolutely gorgeous here today and captains say it was beautiful off shore. Congratulations to anglers aboard the Outrigger today on their blue-fin tuna catch! Nice work! We also hosted some sporty anglers aboard the Sea Breeze, Sea Note, Smoker, and Trophy Hunter choosing to go after blue-fin with spinning rods and what excitement they had releasing one after another. The weather started out rather nice. As the day progressed, the temperature dropped and it was downright "frigid," especially at sea. We had 7 offshore captains go out and 1 nearshore captain. A large amount of Yellow Fin Tuna were reported with several Blue Fin Tuna catch cards filled out. Our renovations are coming to an end. Come check us out. Our hours are Monday-Saturday 9-5. Hope to see ya soon!
Thursday started off with some cool weather and the bite was a bit sluggish. The anglers on the Sea Note were on the winning end today with their 61" blue-fin tuna and some 5-line action from the yellow-fins. These guys are going to enjoy quite a few tasty meals! Congrats to John Zemonek on earning a trophy citation for his 98" blue-fin release! Nice work!

Today is absolutely "Freezing!" We had wind gusts at the Bonner Bridge at 46 mph this morning which kept our boats docked in the marina. It is currently 32 degrees outside and our locals can't take the cold like us transplants from the north. However, tomorrow is supposed to be warmer and less windy. But for now, Bundle Up Buttercup!
Unfortunately, the Bangles did not stop by the fishing center. Today the weather was windy and cold. Even some of our captains are complaining about the weather and they are some TOUGH guys! The weather looks promising Thursday- Saturday and we have boats available. The Blue Fin Tuna are biting!
We had 5 offshore boats go out today with reports of large amounts of Yellow Fin Tuna and 1 Blue Fin Tuna, measuring in at 107"! It was another foggy, rainy day at the Oregon Inlet. Tomorrow we have 4 offshore captains fishing. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous. Fingers Crossed!
Today started out foggy and ended foggy! Crazy weather always at the Oregon Inlet. One of the offshore captains reported catching 9 Yellow Fin and 1 Blue Fin Tuna weighing appox. 120 lbs. We are finishing up our renovations here at the center. The floor is our last step and should be finished on Wednesday. Come check us out!
The captains are reporting that the weather is awesome in the channel. Capt Aaron on The Rock Solid enjoyed a fun day fishing catching Black Sea Bass. The Blue Fin Tuna are tremendous right now. One captain caught a 96" Blue Fin Tuna. Another off shore captain caught a large amount of Yellow Fin Tuna. Congrats to the anglers aboard the Escape! Pictures courtesy of Capt. Greg and Capt.
