Saturday proved by to be an all-weather day, for sure! Little windy and rainy, alot rainy, monsoon, and sunny! But, the captains found some meat and some bills! Pulling out the good ones today!! Anglers finally found some mahi and a couple of boats limited out today, not alot of gaffers, but still a great day! Anglers also pulled in some good-size big-eye today, including a nice haul of 138 lbs by Chris Pavacic! Pretty work! It looks as though the billfish action is picking up, with a few trophy citations being earned today for sails and whites. Yesterday was a no go with one of those lovely weather patterns the Outer Banks is known for. Today, however, produced some pretty good billfish catches, some yellow-fin tuna, black-fin tuna, and big-eye tuna. Maybe these odd patterns are responsible for the uptick in wahoo catches this season. Congrats to Tighe Watson for an amazing 51 lb beauty destined for the dinner plate! Congrats to Brian McShane for a fantastic 135 lb big-eye tuna! Nice work! Congrats to Emily Bracher for earning trophy citations for white marlin releases today! One of those "wait a sec...it'll change" weather days happened today, but it didn't stop our junior anglers fishing on the Miss Oregon Inlet Headboat in the 3rd Annual Youth Fishing Tourney! They were ready to fish and ready to win some great prizes! Day 2 of wind and high seas kept most of our boats in the marina, with the exception of the Miss Oregon Inlet. Anglers on the morning trip enjoyed catches of flounder, sea mullet, croakers, spot, pinfish, pigfish, and black sea bass. Our very special anglers from the Dare County Special Olympics enjoyed a great afternoon aboard the Miss Oregon Inlet and had some busy reels going the entire trip! We're glad to host these amazing anglers!!
