FISHING REPORT 2-15-12

Feb 16, 2012

What a beautiful day for fishing. We had 1 offshore charter and a few private boats out for some bluefin tuna action. Fishing was great. The charter released 2 giants with an estimated weight of 300 lbs. and 350 lbs. They also came in with a bluefin mesuring 66 inches and weighing 150 lbs. Congratulations to Charles Kay and Timothy Starling on their releases. Michael Wroton on a private boat brought in a bluefin measuring 69 inches and weighing 176 lbs. What a fanatastic day of fishing.

Today we had five boats go offshore fishing. They returned with multiple yellowfin tuna and a total of six bluefin tuna releases. We do not have any pictures to post at this time, as it was too dark when the boats arrived at the marina. Hopefully we will get some e- mailed to us and we will post them tomorrow. We did receive a photo from a private boat. Thanks Triple Play.

Weather was not the greatest but we did have an inshore boat go out in the afternoon. They returned back to the dock with a 63 inch bluefin tuna. This was caught within a 1/2 mile from shore. This was quite a surprise. They were scouting for stripers or whatever was out there to be caught. What a great afternoon of fishing.

We had 2 offshore charters out today. The bluefin tuna were hard to find but we did a catch of a few yellowfin tuna. More wind and cold weather coming today. Maybe with only 1 day of warm weather the water won't warm up too much. We are stilling looking for some stripers. We have an inshore charter scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Hope for a good report if they make it out. More news as we fish.
