We're finally setting some records for 2018.......other than the consecutive days of nor'easters since January! The conditions were rough today off-shore, but we had some determined anglers bent on bending some rods and they accomplished their goals! Congrats to Gregory Biggiani on earning a trophy citation for landing his 118 lb big-eye tuna! Gregory was part of the annual Giuseppe Giaimo Memorial Scholarship Tourney held here and this fish also won him the tournament! Double bragging rights! Nice work! Anglers on other boats in the tourney pulled in yellow-fin tuna, black-fin tuna, and mahi.

There were also good numbers of black-fin tuna and yellow-fin tuna as well as a wahoo here and there. Near-Shore anglers enjoyed very good bluefish and albi's today.
The Miss Oregon Inlet had slow fishing this morning, but still managed to pull in good numbers of sea mullet. Bluefish were scattered about, as well. The first Saturday of May is a full-blown roster of all of our off-shore boats sailing. We welcome Ray Kerber and his anglers from The Gesseppe Guillermo Memorial Scholarship Tourney. Here's hoping for great weather and excellent fishing!!

After a windy day at the docks on Sunday, we were certainly glad to see boats heading out this morning. Anglers off-shore were on the hunt to fill fishboxes and they were not disappointed! It looks like today was the semi-official kick-off to the season. All but 3 boats sailed this morning, enjoying a ride much calmer than yesterday morning. The yield was all over the map, literally, today. Congrats to Benjamin Mahoney for his blue marlin release!! Nice work!! Tuna catches were a bit slower than what we like to see, but nearly half way to limits for most vessels made for a decent day overall. There were good numbers of mahi and wahoo, as well as a king mac or two. The albacore action made for some fun fishing. There were also a few mako releases.
It is time to talk about your next trip out 1-800-272-5199! Weekends are filling up late spring and early summer, so give us a call today and grab your spot on the calendar!!

Off-Shore anglers had a rough ride out Friday morning, but started off the day with some good action! The boxes were not as full as we like them to be, but some nice feasts will be happening tonight for sure! Anglers pulled in yellow-fin tuna, black-fin tuna, and mahi. There were also some mako releases today, as well.
Anglers In-Shore were enjoying some good action, pulling in rockfish and bluefish. They also found a school of slot-size drum, bringing in their limit for the trip! Definitely some nice tablefare for these anglers!

We can't say it enough!! The weather changes fast and Thursday turned out to be a gorgeous day here on the Outer Banks! Captains and anglers watched the forecasts with a wishful eye and the venture out paid off! Before we talk about the off-shore, we're very excited with some results In-Shore today. Anglers had some great catches (and releases) of speckled trout and we're happy to see such nice, healthy fish. These anglers also had good catches of bluefish, rock, and flounder, rounding out a beautiful day on the water. Just the kickstart to a great season we were looking for!!
Anglers off-shore had a slow start to the day. Late morning and into early afternoon, the bite picked up and the fish boxes started filling up! Yellow-fin tuna, black-fin tuna, and mahi were on the menu today and plenty of it! The numbers and weights were good for the last Thursday in April!
What are you waiting for? Give us a call and book your trip today 1-800-272-5199.....worry about the weather later!

Monday was solid proof the long range weather forecast is just a guess. If you'd have checked first of last week, today wasn't a good bet. But, our lucky anglers cast their lines and enjoyed a nice return! Limits of yellow-fins were brought in today. A few mahi and black-fin tuna rounded out the show. There were also a few mako releases, as well.

Ready to fish??
Sunday started off with a slow and spotty bite in nice warm water. Action was on and off, with some very good bites happening in the last hour just before heading into the docks. Anglers brought in good numbers of yellow-fin tuna, a few mahi and black-fin, and a coupe of nice wahoo. There were also some shark releases today, as well. We were honored to have some elite military personnel aboard the Tuna Fever and we humbly thank those gentlemen for their service!
Anglers fishing in-shore also had some spotty action, as well, pulling in a few sound striper. The water temps are on the rise and fishing should be improving over the next week or so.
Give us a call and let us book your trip 1-800-272-5199. It's a great time to call!
Finally, some of the good spring fishing we're known for!! With nearly all of the off-shore boats out fishing, all fingers were crossed, hoping for a big day. Anglers headed out to the Gulf Stream and were greeted with a beautiful sunrise and some good water. Limits of nice yellow-fins, a few black-fins, and some mahi filled the fish boxes and were the stars of a good dock-side show this afternoon. Congrats to Daniel Jenkins for earning our first yellow-fin tuna trophy citation of the year for his 71 lb chunker! Nice work! Congrats to David Reynolds for earning a trophy citation for his sailfish release! Awesome!!
