This morning was as pretty as they get! The sun was out, barely any wind, and it was slick calm in the basin. We had a completely empty marina this morning with the exception of one private boat. The gut feeling about the day was a good one, and when the first boat showed up across the marsh grass we knew we were about to see it go off! It was another perfect day to watch some great fish line up on the dock. The cobia's were in trouble with the slick calm water beyond the sea buoy today, and it didn't help to have one of the baddest inshore fleets after them either! They brought in some excellent catches of blues and spanish, some really nice speckled trout, and the COBIASSS! We had some nice ones again today! The pile of citations were thick, we had an 86, 81, 64, 62, 60, 58, 55, 52, 47, 40, and a 40 pound cobia citation turned in this afternoon. For the offshore citations there was a 75# yellowfin tuna caught and a BLUE MARLIN release! This season is starting out with a bang and we hope it lasts all summer! The offshore guys absolutely nailed the tunas again today! There were 27 boats that went out and 27 boats that got their limit. And two of our boats went out twice with different groups! Like I have said to you before, now is the time to book your trip!!! Get it while its good!!! Call us before 7 every day of the week or go online and book it at home! Be sure to like us on facebook so you can see when the boats are coming in! You can also follow us on Twitter! Let's go catch 'em!!!
Regardless of the weather today our 6 boats that headed offshore this morning knew what they were after. They roughed the seas and found themselves surrounded by all kinds of life. Some of the people shared their stories of hundreds of dolphins swimming on every wave out there and sharks grabbing the ends of their tunas. There seems to be another world out there right now that we can only hope to imagine how cool it really is. There have been some beautiful fish brought home from our entire fleet lately. Everything from Giant Marlin to Giant Mackerel's. Its a great time to be on the water right now! Our Offshore boats that went out all had the opportunity for a limit of tuna today. It was definitely choppy out there but some stayed and pulled through with the day. The ones that did made another excellent day on the books and another group of people happy! Our inshore fleet came in today with another Spanish mackerel/bluefish catch per boat. One of the Spanish measured 24"! Fishing right outside the Inlet and snagging these pretty fish makes for a great morning or afternoon trip and the kids have a ball! We have every boat booked for offshore tomorrow and the weather seems to be in their favor. The Inshore fleet and the Miss Oregon Inlet will be out tomorrow as well. If you are ready to get out there we are ready to take you so give us a call or book it online as soon as you can! Trips are limited and you don't want to miss out on a great day fishing out of the best place in the world, Oregon Inlet!!!
This morning was another empty marina with all of our boats fishing today. The first offshore boat to arrive home was pulling into their slip by 10:15a.m. It was another early day for the offshore fleet with limits of those gorgeous yellowfin tunas and some gaffer dolphin. We saw a couple 35 lb gaffer dolphins thrown on the dock too which is definitely a pretty sight! Some of our people reported they saw a football field of tunas schooling together with pilot whales and other kinds of sea-life, it must have been neat to see! We had a big wahoo come in today, and there was a white marlin released. Two citations were also handed out for 81 lb yellowfin tunas. Our inshore boats came home from their AM and PM trips with some of the prettiest Spanish mackerels you're ever going to see! Bluefish and Cobias were caught as well, One cobia weighed 76 lbs! 10 Citations were turned in today and we couldn't be more thrilled with today's results! The offshore guys came in as early as 11:15 today with their limits of Yellowfin Tunas and Gaffer Dolphin! There was also an extraordinary Blue Marlin release today on the Hooker. They caught a Yellowfin Tuna and had a Blue Marlin come out of the water and devour it, they hooked the marlin and releasing it after getting it to the boat! Captain Tom said it was as close to 1000_lbs as it gets. There were reports of all kinds of life out on the water today from the Captains like pilot whales, manta rays, sea turtles, and sharks. Boats hit the slips around 2:30 today with their limit of Yellowfin Tuna, and some had catches of the prettiest gaffers you've ever seen. It's a nice thing to know that the storm didn't push our fish away. We had some inshore action on the one boat that went today also, they ended up snagging themselves a pair of Cobias!
