Hope you guys are enjoying this sunshine right now, its absolutely gorgeous looking out this window right now, the water is slick calm. Pictures don't do it justice. We had our Inshore/Nearshore came in with some Triggerfish and those pretty Spanish Mackerels this afternoon! Our other boys came in with their Yellowfin Tuna's, Dolphin, Wahoo. We released a couple billfish out there too. One Blue Marlin, One Whitey. Some got lucky today and didn't get hit by the shark attack out there and some got robbed of their tunas. Our mates have to be extra careful when the sharks start up that mess. As you saw in the early report today there were some squids getting spit up by the tunas so the feeding frenzy is on for sure. Nothing like seeing it for yourself out there! Don't worry about that storm either, Our Captains don't go unless its safe! Give us a call and get on one of our beautiful Carolina boats- we've got some spots available if you can grab a spot before they are gone. Please don't forget tomorrow is the last day to fish on the Miss Oregon Inlet until Monday since she doesn't go on Sundays! Call your favorite Fishing Center and get excited to go fishing! 252.441.6301 Check out our Facebook page and be the 3,333rd "Like" and we will get you a Free Oregon Inlet Fishing Center T- shirt!
Only 10 Offshore boats went out this morning due to the 20-25 knot winds that set some of us to the dock. It was a little too much wind for most of us but the Inshore and Nearshore boats still went out on their AM and PM trips! They had excellent Spanish Mackerel fishing which is what we kind of predicted. Sometimes when the fishing is super slow, the complete opposite comes along the next day and blows us away again. We had buckets of Spanish, a couple bluefish, some White Dotter Sharks (which are great eating!), piles of Triggerfish, and a couple amberjack. The Offshore boats that did make it came in a little staggered, some came in early with a full catch of Yellowfin Tunas or a Bigeye Tuna, a Blue Marlin and some baffers (what we call them when they are in between a bailer and a gaffer). Most of the boats came in with their tunas today so it was really a great day to go, just a little windy! One of our Mates took a beautiful picture of a rainbow that set right outside of 'The Crack' this morning (our shortcut channel that gets us to the bridge). It was 7-11 today and we got to see a rainbow!!! The Tunas showed up, another Bigeye, and the inshore bite was on! I would definitely say we had luck on our side! If you want to go out with us please go ahead and get lined up and reserve your trip. We have Make- up trips being put together everyday, so if you only have 2 or 3 (etc.) people let us know immediately so we can get you with the perfect match of people. Make-up's allow you to pay per person. We have limited Inshore and Nearshore trips available so if you want that Morning trip or Afternoon trip don't wait! The Miss Oregon Inlet has been getting the croakers so grab the kids and get them fishing too! Call us 7 days a week from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 252.441.6301 or book your trips right online! If you haven't already done so, "Like" us on Facebook so you can view hundreds of fishing pictures and maybe even tag yourselves in them as well! Have a great Evening we hope to see you soon!!!
This place is so pretty in the summer! Everyone has been enjoying the sunshine and breeze coming off the water this morning. We had some fish brought in today but a lot of the people were ready to take them home so they could enjoy the rest of their day. There were Spanish Mackerels, Bluefish, White Dotter Sharks, Triggerfish, a couple King Mackerels, a Cobia and a nice Red Drum!!! We also had some great Speckled Trout fishing! Our Lady Angler, Sarah from PA, caught herself a citation 5 LB speckled trout today!!! The pictures don't do those fish justice, Awesome job guys!!! Do us a favor and drink you water in this heat and if you are in the area come down and see us!! Keep up with the updates on Facebook and Twitter to see when the boats start coming in! Call our booking desk girls and book your Headboat, Inshore, Nearshore and Offshore trips at 441.6301! Have a great day!!!
Well the offshore report today was a little crazy. There were some Citation Dolphin weighed in. one was 46 LBS and also a 46 LB Wahoo! Some boats had limits of tunas and some had a mix. It was a little different than yesterday, since it was harder to find the grassline out there for the dolphin. We had a lot of fish cleaned and even had a Bigeye come in! One of our boats had a double header Blue Marlin, one was estimated at 600 LBs!!! Also had a Sailfish release today too. We have some days available to go to the gulfstream this week and the inshore and nearshore trips are filling in AM and PM trips. Get your crews together and book a full trip for 6 people or you can do a Make-up if you don't have enough to go and pay per person. We book trips everyday so just give us a call at 252.441.6301 and we will get you out on the water!!!
Hey pretty fishing people! Today was another wonderful day at Oregon Inlet Fishing Center and you know that I wouldn't say that if it wasn't... We had a terrible day fishing for Cobia's but we had a great day with the Triggerfish, Amberjacks White Dotter Sharks and Speckled Trouts! Those clouds just didn't want to give us a break! The Inshore and Nearshore crowd down here really just can't be beat. Our Lady Captain and Gentlemen Captains know what they are going after! No matter what you are going for we know how and when to get you on it! The morning held wonderfully for the trout's on the Fly and spinning reels. Nothing is more exciting than getting a hit on top water or jigging for a beauty like a speckle. Our offshore boys really showed their stuff today throwing their fish out on the dock. We had 3 Bigeyes hauled out on the dock today and had so many people looking at them getting jacked up about it! We even had a little man tell us he wanted to hold a certain fish, you can't imagine how much we can't wait to see that cutie come back and fish with us again. Fishing is giving us beautiful results for a hot summer July and if you don't think you are going to be satisfied then you just don't know what kind of fleet we really have here. You want some of the best, well look no further, give us a call, we don't have many spaces available but if we could get you fishing with us we would make the days shorter and the fishing times last forevevr! Call us tomorrow and tell us what you are looking for, we know you want to go!
1.800.272.5199, or get your local call on at 252.441.6301. We can't wait hook you up!
It seems like today was another day like the last two, only there are better numbers of fish. Out of 42 Charter boats there were 11 that did not go for one reason or the other. We have almost everyone fishing in the morning so the report should be a lot more in depth tomorrow. There were Bigeyes, Wahoo, a couple billfish, and some had limits of both tuna and dolphin. You just never know what the day will bring. Inshore there were some sharks caught and we did also see a Cobia. The Inshore fleet has AM and PM trips but if you're lucky you might be able to snag a PM trip if you are thinking of going tomorrow! We will have updates as soon as they happen via Twitter @FISHOIFC and Facebook. If you are thinking about booking something, we are ready to help you from 5am to 7pm every day at 441.6301 so give us a call! Kick off the week with an Inshore, Nearshore, Offshore, or Headboat trip with your friends and families. The headboat can take the whole family and has 2 clean bathrooms on board and a galley. Just choose when you want to go, in the morning or the afternoon. We have a great Captain and Crew this year and you will be sure to have a good time. Reserve your trips online if you don't want to wait. We will see you at the boat!
Our fleet sailed again today with pretty good fishing. Inshore boats got on some Cobia's, Triggers, Puppy Drum and picked at the Spanish Mackerels trolling. There were some big Cobia's caught today, one weighing 80 lbs!! Those 80+ pounders are some massive fish, and getting to throw a bucktail at a fish that big is pure adrenaline. If you've never been Cobia fishing it is really a sight casting type of fishing, you usually have to look for them on top in order to get the idea of where they are. On a pretty day like today you can see why they were spotted. All of our boats have eyes for the Cobia's but they are really a nearshore thing. The offshore guys came in with some better gaffer and tuna fishing this evening and we did have a couple Bigeye's and Wahoo caught today too! Those Bigeye's are loaded with that red meat that everyone loves. The sharks have been enjoying it too, we see more and more tunas bit in half these days. If you want to go see it all for yourself inshore or offshore pick up a phone and give us a call and book your day to make your vacation something to remember. You can go to each boats calendar page and see what days they have available if there is someone you know you want to go with. We book Make-up trips all the time where you can piece together a trip per person and that usually fills up the extra days pretty quickly. So that is why we ask you please don't wait until the last minute. Call us from 5a.m. to 7p.m. every day of the week at 252.441.6301 and we will hook you up!
Good Afternoon Oregon Inlet people!!! Hope you guys are out on the water on this gorgeous day! It is slick calm out there and we have already seen some of what's going on with the fishing. There were some Cobia's, Spanish Mackerel's, and Triggerfish brought in this morning from the half day boats and the Miss Oregon Inlet got on some Croakers and Pigfish. Our boats are back out again but here are the pictures from the morning. If you want to get out on the water and go fishing we have you covered, call us anytime before 7 to book your trips at 1.800.272.5199 or local at 252.441.6301
Today we couldn't figure out what to expect with the fishing offshore. Our inshore boats have been finding the fish and giving us some inclination of what's going on after their AM trips each day but we have to wait to see what the gulfstream is going to give us. Our guys nearshore and inshore brought in some Spanish Mackerels again today. There were some Cobia's, Puppy Drums, triggerfish, and a even a big 'ol Blacktip Shark! Offshore we had some variety with the meat slams, double blue marlins, bigeyes, limits of tuna, Wahoo and limits of gaffers. The sharks, by the way, have been everywhere lately and some want to get their last bite of tuna before we get to throw them in the fish box! Our citations were a little bit of everything. We had a 69 lb Cobia, a 42 lb Dolphin!!, a 126 lb Bigeye Tuna, a Sailfish, and 3 Blue Marlins!!! There are a ton of pictures for the Facebook page tonight so check it out. Come on down here and get on a boat and experience this fishing for yourself. We have so many types to choose from, call us today at 252.441.6301 before 7pm or book us online anytime!
It was another hottt day today, but a great day to be on the water! Our inshore boats came in with some of the prettiest catches of Spanish Mackerels you've ever seen and a couple of our boats picked up the Cobia's, Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum. Bucket's O' Fish today folks. The Offshore guys returned with some BIGEYES today! YAY! There was a 209 pounder brought in first. Glad to see them! Getting to catch one of those and bring it home must be awesome! The dolphin fishing was a little better today than yesterday and we still had a couple boats come in with really nice yellowfin tuna's! If you can get on your facebook pages tonight go to our "Like" page and check us out. We are booking trips just as fast as the phone rings so if you want your date then don't wait. We are ready for a full summer with our favorite people so get on the boat! The weather is beautiful, come on down and join us any day of the week. The Miss Oregon Inlet sails every day 2 times a day excluding Sundays. Dial 252.441.6301 and book us today or online anytime!!!
Happy Fourth of July!!!!! We are absolutely loving the weather down here today, it is gorgeous! Its a perfect day to be celebrating our freedom near the water! We hope you are all either fishing with us or fishing SOMEWHERE!!! We have a little morning report to share with you from the AM Inshore and Nearshore boats. Inshore was great this morning, we had so many Spanish Mackerel's, Bluefish, Speckled Trout, Puppy Drum and someone even caught a Ribbon Fish which is pretty rare. One was also caught yesterday so seeing 2 in 2 days is pretty neat! Some of our Captains booked the afternoon out to go spend the rest of the day with their families but a lot of them went back out. We have only had one offshore boat return home so far and they had some Yellowfin Tunas. We hope that you will try to come down and see us! IF you want to book a trip just ask our booking desk girls what we have available and they will try their best to get you taken care of! Give us a call at 252.441.6301 to book over the phone or stay online and go back to the homepage to book it yourself! Stay tuned for more later! Have fun today and don't do anything we wouldn't do ;)!!!!
We hope you guys have had a great 4th of July with your families and friends today! Thank You to our Veterans for protecting our freedom and serving our great nation!
Fishing today was great Inshore but a little slow for the Offshore fleet. It goes to show you just never can predict what will happen. The last two days we were hit with the Bigeye Tuna's and then today we had more yellowfin's and dolphin but not a single Bigeye. The Blue Marlins were out there though and we had 4 flags flying on the riggers this evening. Many people don't know it but if you see a flag flying you always look at the color and shape of the fish on the flag to determine what it is. If it is upside down that means the fish has been released. Right side up means the fish is being brought in. You will usually see them turned upside down. Our dolphin fishing was about the same as the tuna fishing it was just hit or miss. Some of our Inshore/Nearshore boats got on the gaffers today too! The afternoon report for the inshore was another great one like this morning's that was posted in the mini report. One of our boats got on the Cobia's and Triggerfish and we had some more Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum on the PM trips too. The Miss Oregon Inlet caught some puppy drum this morning and some croakers this afternoon. Next week we have a couple days available Offshore if you want to go enjoy a day in the gulfstream. Give us a call! Every day is different and you just never know what is going to come in next! We are steadily booking Inshore trips for the AM and PM so don't delay. Call the Fishing Center at 252.441.6301 or book us online! Everyone be safe and have a Happy 4th of July!!!
Today is another crazy day with this weather! What in the world! At least the sun is shining in between clouds!! Our AM Inshore groups came in with some pretty decent fish! Not everyone wanted their pictures taken but we do have a couple to update you with. Everyone is out on their PM trips but these Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, and even one Cobia picture are what came in earlier. Our Speckled Trout catch had 2 groups of people that fished on 2 separate boats. They both did great and took home some pretty fish! We are still waiting to see a sign from Offshore but stay tuned to your Twitter and Facebook pages for those updates. The headboat is out again on trip number 2 and hopefully will get the same if not more fish than this morning! They had come croakers, bluefish, and a few sea mullets caught on their AM trip. We are selling tickets every day online and at the booking desk, but remember the Miss Oregon Inlet doesn't fish on Sundays! Call us to see what's available at 1.800.272.5199 toll free or 252.441.6301 local. Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday!!! Check back later here and Facebook for more pictures!!
Let's start off by saying THANKS!! If you've got your trip locked in, you are doing great! Our Inshore boats went out all day today and got in on some action! There were a couple lulls in the day but the averages were great. We had 3 Citation Cobias, 2 were 48 pounds each and one was 65. Our guys brought in some Speckled Trout and Puppy drum again and had an even better day on the Miss Oregon Inlet for the PM trip like we hoped. It was a gorgeous day down here, we didn't know if it was going to rain a couple times but it never happened luckily! The Offshore boys had themselves another whammy with the Bigeyes! There were 8 Citations turned in for our hundred plus pound fish. They were: 118, 137, 142, 145, 156, 157, 165, 178. Other citations consisted of a 35, and a 36 pound dolphin and 2 blue marlin releases! The boats caught a lot of throwback yellowfin tunas but the ones brought in were somewhat of a mix. Almost every boat had at least one big gaffer dolphin. We are all ready for tomorrow, we hope you are continuing to book your trips in advance so you don't miss out. Call us at 1.800.272.5199 or Local at 252.441.6301 before 7:00pm and we'll take care of your fishing trip needs! Check us out via our Facebook "Like" page for hundreds of pictures, you may be in some of them! Take it easy!
There was an attempt of a mini report going up today but the boats came in one after the other sooner than expected. The first boats this AM were the Inshore guys who caught their selves some blues and macks (Spanish Mackerel and bluefish). A couple Nearshore boats had a great catch of Triggerfish, Spanish, and Bluefish while another had a 52 LB Cobia! Also there were a really great catch of Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum caught today and our Lady Captain told us the water wasn't looking right and a little messy but they were still gettin' 'em!!! You just never know! We had 14 huge fish caught today. The Bigeye Tuna's were caught on every other boat it seemed like. Record citation fish were 1 Blue Marlin, 2 Sailfish, a 223, 192, 160, 161, 133, 131, 121, and a 119 LB Bigeye (although that is only 8 weighed out of 11 brought in today) and last but definitely not least there was a Mako Shark caught by a cute little lady angler that was 121 pounds!!! She said it was everything she could do to just get that fish to the boat. They are pretty aggressive so we can only imagine. Today started out a little rough with some squalls around this morning holding the rain over us but as the day progressed the sun came out and had the people coming out of the woodworks and even the boats came in a little earlier today! The day seemed to get prettier and the fish caught were good looking fish. Can't wait to see what the rest of the week delivers us. Hope you guys got your trips booked there is limited availability now but if you can't make it offshore or inshore then don't forget about our Headboat that takes everyone out! 6 days a week and 2 trips a day you have your choice! Call us anytime between 4:30am and 7pm and get on board, and enjoy this holiday week! 1.800.272.5199 and get our updates on Twitter @FISHOIFC and the Facebook "Like" page to know exactly how its going down here!!
