The Spanish Mackerel fishing was SO COOL today! Our boats brought in lots of shiny silver, and yellow polka dotted fish this morning! Spanish are so pretty! We saw 5 huge fish too, two Citations were filled out for a 6 lb 2oz and 6 lb 7oz fish!!! That is huge!
The Red Drum fishing right outside is really kickin' butt right now also. Our Inshore and Nearshore fleet caught and released an average of 15 fish this morning. If you haven't experienced it, you might want to try! Its so much fun! There was another boat that went Speckled Trout fishing and came in with a nice bucket of fish and even had a Flounder at the bottom. The Miss O.I. is steady pickin' along at the fish right now. They are back out on the second trip right now. Call us if you want to get out on a half or whole day fishing trip. We have every type of fishing you are looking for so just ask one of our sweet booking desk girls! Make-Up trips are being booked daily so be sure to let us know as soon as possible! Hope ya'll are having a fun day today! Updates to follow via Twitter and Facebook! Catch ya later!
This report is going to be a little different... We have a hundred dock pictures so since there are more action shots today, we're going to give you some ACTION! Facebook will have all of the rest for those of you that have joined our "Like" Page! Our Offshore brought in 4 Bigeyes, weighing 260, 229, 186, and 175 LBS! 260 is our biggest so far this year. We are still trying to dig up the biggest Bigeye record that Oregon Inlet has had so maybe we will have that for you tomorrow. Lots of Marlin and Sailfish were released: 3 White 3 Blue Marlin 2 Sailfish!!! The tuna fishing is pretty sweet right now. The fish are big ones. Its not quantity people! QUALITY! :) Those fish will tip the scales. We had some big dolphin also, and a 50 LB Wahoo!!! The Spanish Mackerel fishing was killer today and our Inshore/Nearshore fleet released a ton of Red Drum. There were a few really nice Speckled Trout and nice Triggerfish catches lined up too. Call us soon to book your charters, we have had a lot of people standing in line and calling to book! We have all types of trips available give us a ring at 441.6301 or do it right here online! Hope you are having a great night see you soon!
Every Nearshore and Inshore boat was out this morning enjoying their AM trips on the water! There were over 250 Spanish Mackerels caught today. The Bluefish were there but not as big this time. We still had over 20 Bluefish thrown in. The Speckled Trout fishing is still rockin as well, along with a couple Puppies. Puppy Drum are really just a smaller version of Red Drum and are just as tasty! Drum are such healthy, stocky looking fish. Full of color and very strong. Catching them on a spinner or a Fly is pretty exciting! We had 5 Red Drum releases in the Ocean today and 4 Cobias! Some of these Drum are over 40Lbs or more. You can also get a release Citation for them by filling out the form and turning it in to us. You then receive your citations in the mail when you get home. Some people put them in a binder because they have so many. The kids love them!!!
Our beautiful Headboat, The Miss Oregon Inlet, just left on her second trip for the day with the rest of the boats. She is catching lots of Croakers, Sea Mullets and even some Flounder. Our bottom fish in the sound are all very unique. We have Sea Robins (that actually have wings), Pigfish (that snort like a pig) or Porgies, Pinfish (that do nothing), Black Sea Bass (that are lost), Gray Trout (that are fun), Sting Rays (that sting, so be careful!), Skates (Stingrays ugly cousin), Sea Mullet (that are delicious), Bluefish (that bite), Croaker (that Croak) and Flounder (that are flat with 2 eyes on one side). There is no telling what you may find hit your bottom rig out there but that's what makes it so much fun! If you want to take the kids out on a boat that's practically made for them, we are selling tickets Mondays through Saturdays. Bring the whole family, or if you are looking for a more personal fishing trip catch one of our Inshore/Open Boat or Nearshore trips that can hold up to 6 folks. Offshore will be in this afternoon so look for our updates when we see the first boat coming in. We have some boats available this week and even if you only have 1 or 2 people we can put you together on a 'Make- Up' Trip with the other people signed up to go! Make-Ups are 292$ per person and allow you to get on the big boats by finding others like you that are ready to go! We book Make-up trips off of the dock all of the time so if you think you want to go just let us direct you to the booking desk to get signed up!
We hope you are enjoying your afternoon! Just think, It could be YOU out there fishing right now!!! See you at the dock!
Ok I promise not to talk your ear off this time :)
Our Offshore Fleet went out this morning, a total of 19, are all back now and everyone's gone home. The fishing was pretty fair today! The average boat got a couple 50 pound Yellowfin Tunas and if they were lucky got at least a half of a limit of dolphin. A lot of boats had their limits of dolphin, some had a wahoo a Yellowfin and a handful of dolphin. Everyone went home with something and these Yellowfins were big fish. If you think about 5 50Lb Tunas, that equals 250Lbs of fish. A pretty great day! I'd much rather catch couple nice big fish than 20 small ones. No Bigeyes today :( but I still have faith :) Maybe tomorrow? We had a Blue Marlin and a Sailfish release, and total of 3 Wahoo's! If you love to go offshore and you truly enjoy the ocean, the fishing is just a bonus. We are going to get you out there and show you the time of your life anyways! So when you get on the computer tonight after you gather up your friends, go ahead and pick out your boat and if we are closed at the Fishing Center don't hesitate to call your Captain of choice and book your trip. We are ready to go when you are! So get ready!!! 252.441.6301 Until tomorrow, we will see you out in the Bluewater!!! Don't forget to check out our Inshore/Nearshore report from today before this one. Also Facebook and Twitter will have your other pictures in just a little while. Have a great night friends!
Wow today was a rainy one! It rained offshore, inshore, all over the place. We still caught fish though :) We had a couple Bigeyes caught, one on the upper end and one on the lower end. We only got the weight of one of them but it was a 199 Lb fish! These Bigeyes are insane how big they are. If you haven't been down here and witnessed it for yourself yet you really should! You can sit back and watch the crowd freak out when they bring these fish off the boat. Tomorrow might be the day you see some more Bigeye's thrown down. The rain clouds are what they like. Not so much the rain itself but the cloudy days seem to stir them up. Our Yellowfin Tuna fishing is holding some bigger fish right now in the 40Lb+ range. We call them Buff Tuna's. Even just a couple of those guys and you are good to go! Some billfish were caught and released today and some dolphin were piled up as well. We are still seeing more Wahoo's and those huge 35Lb+ gaffer dolphins are being caught. Our inshore fleet dealt with some rain today but the ones that got out had some fun with the Red Drum fishing and Cobia's! A few Drum's were released and we had a couple Cobia's cleaned to take home! Just right, some action and some dinner! Nearshore caught the Spanish Mackerel's and some Triggerfish. They always have a great time out there and send in pictures. If you can get on Facebook and Twitter you can see them as we post them. We are putting together Make-Up trips all day tomorrow so do me a favor and get signed up for the next one! We will be there bright and early at 5AM for you to call 252.441.6301 or just book your trip OR make-up trip right on-line! There will be updates when the boats start coming in, so keep up with us tomorrow! Those of you fishing in the morning, Get Excited!!!!
Maybe the Weatherman fell and bumped his head yesterday? It was supposed to be pretty like yesterday again today but instead got the rain and a little wind this time. We had 13 boats go fishing today. 9 Offshore, 2 Nearshore, and 2 Inshore. Slow Sunday for us but there were still some nice fish caught. It was a great day for the Red Drum fishing in the ocean! One of our inshore boats got to fill out 10 citations! We didn't hear exactly what happened out there but the fishing definitely turned on long enough to catch and release that many! So much fun! Once you see those fish schooled up you will never forget it. Cobia's and Sharks like to swim with the pack as well, so when you cast your bucktail out there at them you never know what will hit it. We had 2 Cobia's caught also. The Nearshore boats came home with some Triggerfish and some Bluefish. One of them even snagged another Ribbonfish! They are wild looking, they almost look iridescent when you pull them in. Their skin is smooth and shiny silver and some of the guys even rig them up for Marlin fishing because they're so pretty! Speaking of Marlins there were a Blue and a White Marlin released. We had a 114 and 154 LB Bigeye hauled home to the dock this afternoon if you were down when the boats came in. Those big guys fill up the box quick!! A few Wahoo's, Yellowfin and Dolphin were taken home. Overall the fishing was pretty scattered out there but that doesn't mean things won't change overnight! Bigeyes like overcast and cloudy so lets hope they are ready to come out and play tomorrow! We have trips available all through the week depending on what you're looking for. If you want to hunt for a Monster Bigeye Tuna, then this week would be a good time to try it! Don't wait until they're gone, choose your boat and book online or call us anytime at the fishing center to reserve your trip! We put together Make-Up trips everyday for 292$ per person so make sure you call us so we can put you together with the other 5 people that want to go with you! If Offshore isn't what you're looking for then ask our friendly booking desk girls about our Inshore, Open Boat, Nearshore, Headboat and Fly Fishing trips. We have it all and are ready to roll! Contact your Captain personally or call us at 252.441.6301 local and toll free at 1.800.272.5199!
Well, we only had one Bigeye brought home today but it happened to be the biggest one of the year so far weighing 257 lbs!!! Not only was it a monster fish but it was also caught by our very own Summer Bracher, a GIRL! Way to go Summer!!! Today was a switch up providing us with more Wahoo's this time which is a change to see! One boat had 3 alone! There were 9 Wahoos caught out of 12 boats. Other citations include 4 Blue Marlins, 2 White Marlins, 2 Sailfish, a 35 lb dolphin and a 48 lb Wahoo!! Inshore has been having some great Speckle Trout fishing going on and even a couple nice flounder. Nearshore got on the triggers good today and more bluefish with a couple Spanish Mackerels. Its so weird how it changes from Spanish Mackerels to Bluefish but every day is different. We have all kinds of trips available for you including AM, PM, ALL DAY Inshore and ALL DAY Offshore. Our Make-Up trips are also available but you have to call ahead early to make sure you get on a boat! Make-ups are 292$ per person and all day Offshore trips are 1700$ with cash or 1750$ with a credit card. Give us a call or just go ahead and book it online by simply going back to the homepage. Put this number in your phones 252.441.6301 under OIFC and hit send between 5AM and 7PM! Have a great night!!!
WOW!!! We just weighed in the biggest catch of fish we have had in a long time from our very last boat that just came in. Their total pounds of fish caught was a whopping 770 POUNDS!!! That's going to hold this years record for now. Their fish included 3 Bigeyes weighing 184, 173, and 161 and 5 yellowfin tunas! NICE job guys!!!! Actually both of our last two boats brought in 3 bigeyes each! MAN that got us excited down here!!! We had 12 boats go offshore today and 14 Bigeyes!!! CRAZY!!! The yellowfin tunas were those nice 40-60 pounders. We also had a 70 and 74 lb Yellowfin Tuna, a 49 lb Dolphin and 2 Blue Marlin citations turned in too! Here are all the weights of the 14 fish... 214, 210, 200, 182, 198, 188, 184, 184, 173, 170 163, 161, 147, and 129! That is 2,503 lbs of fish!
Maybe this full moon was trying to make up for the last one? Whatever it is we will take it! This was the most outstanding Bigeye Tuna fishing we have had and we sure hope it keeps on keepin on! Inshore and Nearshore had some excellent Speckled Trout fishing today and some more triggerfish! The water inland was a little dirty but its always changing so hopefully it will be better tomorrow. Every boat went on their AMs and PM trips and we have a couple still available for the weekend if you want to go! Book online or call 252.441.6301 after 5AM tomorrow morning. Saturday has 8 boats open offshore and 13 open on Sunday. They won't be open for long so get back on the homepage and reserve your boat now! Get in on this fishing if you know what's good for ya!
Spanish Mackerels were in piles on the dock this morning! That and some Triggerfish, Bluefish, Sea Mullet, and even a pretty Gray Trout that was a NICE one! One Cobia was caught and weighed, he was 18 LBS! The view down here is gorgeous right now, the water is nice and calm and the sun just came out. The sky is so pretty, you can sit around here and watch people take it all in. The boats went back out for their PM trips right after lunchtime, and the Miss Oregon Inlet went on both of her trips today too. If you can get your kids out on one of our half day trips it would be a memory they'll never forget. We saw so many kids having fun this morning, there's nothing like seeing that smile on their face from going fishing! Best thing in the world for a child! Give us a call today, we have some trips waiting just for you! Offshore guys will be in after 3 most likely but we will send you that update on Facebook and Twitter so keep your phone in your pocket! We are steady putting together make-up trips and taking requests to get to the gulfstream. Don't think twice about the great time you should be having out there! Put this number in your phone 252.441.6301 and let us book that trip! Have a beautiful day everyone!!!
Today a front moved in with some light NE winds and rain and pushed offshore. Instead of continuing to pass through it just sat still on top of our guys fishing offshore. They had harder conditions due to the rain but some still managed to find the fish. It was a gorgeous day out there until the rain started, but Inshore stayed pretty. We had 2 Bigeye tunas captured today. One was 176 and the other was 134 LBS! The crowd today was clapping and getting pretty excited for them as they pulled them out of the fish box. We had one good dolphin catch but everyone else seemed to find the tunas and maybe a gaffer or a wahoo. These yellowfin's were pretty fish, between 30 and 50lb fish. Just how we like it! Inshore/Nearshore got to find the monster school of drum and cobia's out there today. There were about 8 citations for releases with those. If you haven't witnessed the drum fishing that we get down here, you definitely should try to. Once you see it you will understand why, its something else. Other than those we had some more excellent Spanish Mackerel, shark, triggerfish, and Speckled Trout fishing. The Miss Oregon Inlet is doing pretty good on their AM's and PM's. Their fishing has picked up a lot more than it has been. Captain Jerry, First Mate Mark and Second Mate Ashley are first class and will take care of you to show you a great time. Grab your kids and get them one of our rods in their hands! If you don't have a trip booked this week, Call us and we will get you on your perfect boat 252.441.6301. Do it for yourself because you deserve it!!!
Fishing was great this morning! Nearshores came in and brought some great Triggerfish, Spanish Macks, White Dotter Sharks and Bluefish home. Inshore got on the Speckled Trout and Cobia's. We had 10 Cobia's come from the AM trips. The biggest one was 56 LBS! We love our Cobia's! Come down and see us this afternoon when I facebook and tweet the first boat coming in! Yesterday we had people booking trips off the dock, and today we can help you out just the same! Give us a call at 252.441.6301 or come down and book it with one of our friendly booking desk girls. We are looking forward to seeing you and what our boys are going to throw on the dock! Like us on Facebook and Follow us on Twitter even if you just "like" and "follow" Oregon Inlet Fishing Center!!! We have hundreds of pictures for you to see every day on both so check us out!!! See you at the dock!!!
Today was a great day to be fishing! They had to go find them but we are so glad they did! We had 4 Bigeye citations weighing 226, 209, 146, 112 LBS!!! The yellowfin tuna showed up today and every boat seemed to get some meat to take home! These fish were a little bigger fish this time. If it wasn't tuna they still had some other things caught like a limit of dolphin or even a nice big Wahoo. It was a dry hot day but the clouds came in and cooled us off just in time for the throw down on the dock. We had great Inshore and Nearshore fishing this afternoon as well as in the morning report. Our people caught some more Triggerfish Spanish Mackerels and more COBIAS!!! It was a beautiful day to find a brown fish out there! If you're ready to go we are SO ready to take you!!! Call us at 252.441.6301 or book it online if you don't want to wait another minute!!! Follow us on Facebook and Twitter and share us with all of your friends and Family! Tomorrow should be another pretty day so come down and see us and even better come fishing with us!!!!
Have a great night!!!
Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Our AM trips got in right before lunchtime like usual. This time was a little different since everyone actually had something different. For Nearshore one of our boats had a fishbox full of Triggerfish that some were the size of a dinner plate. Some pretty fish! Triggerfish get their name because of their top dorsal fin that sticks straight up and when you push on it, it won't lay down. The trick is to push the smaller fin directly behind it that allows the fin to move and acts like a "trigger" The fin will lay down, but only if you push the trigger. Kind of a neat thing to know if you ever catch one! But be careful they have teeth!! Other than the Spanish Mackerel fishing that we have been having the Nearshore also had some Bluefish caught, White Dotter Sharks, Bonitas and maybe an Amberjack or two but they didn't bring them in. Inshore had some great Speckled Trout fishing and a couple Sea Mullets on spinning reels, also some flounder. A man and his son from Pennsylvania got to hook up to a nice Cobia that weighed in at 54 lbs!! Pretty work guys! Our sweet headboat The Miss Oregon Inlet has been fishing every AM and PM trip and reporting some good croakers, seamullet, and flounder fishing. The thing about fishing on the Miss O.I. is you never really know what kind of fish you might hook up on. Some of our bottom fish are pretty interesting looking around here and the kids absolutely love them. Each trip goes out for 4.5 hours and the boat has a men's and women's bathroom and you are welcome to bring a small lunchbox cooler that fits under the bench. Its better to book in advance and get here early for us to get a headcount since we must have 10 people to go! Sundays are the only day the boat doesn't fish so call us today and book your tickets over the phone or pay cash and receive a dollar discount! We will be down here all day waiting for the boats to come in, keep up with us on Facebook by clicking the link on the homepage or Follow us on Twitter to find out when the boats start coming in! Some of you don't really like Facebook but if you want to see tons more pictures and updates its really worth creating an account! Besides if you go fishing with us you can see your own pictures in our Albums page! Don't forget to share them with your friends and save them to your computers! Try it out!!!
What's up with the wind today, geez! Our guys made it back from the gulfstream with some dolphin and yellowfin tuna catches. Not every day is going to be a meat feast but our people were all having a good time and happy with their results. The tuna fishing isn't really a guarantee for July so to see them coming in still is a wonderful thing! There was a 42 LB Wahoo citation today and a 54 LB Cobia citation turned in. We also had another 3 Cobias caught in the 20- 30 LB class range. Tomorrow we have 3 boats available offshore as of right now, so we are looking forward to seeing what everyone brings home then. Inshore/Nearshore boats are booked both AM and PM trips tomorrow except for 2 PM's that are still available. Half day and All day trips are always a blast with our Captains and Mates. Once you get to know us down here you'll have a friend for life. We are a little crazy. :) call us at 252.441.6301 and bring on the fun, we are ready to roll!
It rained all day here on land but there wasn't any rain offshore, they said it was absolutely beautiful out there! We had 18 boats go offshore and almost all of our Inshore/Nearshore boats went. Inshore had some nice Cobia fishing with one 52 lb Citation turned in. Nearshore hooked up with the Spanish Mackerels all morning and some Triggerfish. The fishing has been a little bit of everything Offshore. Each day seems to change a little too, today the Tunas were a little hungrier and seemed to be a nicer class of fish. There was a Blue Marlin and 2 White Marlin releases today as well. We have some boats available this week when you're ready to get in on the action. Nothing is better than catching your own fish to grill up on vacation! Its only Monday so plan your fishing trips with us now and get excited!!! We love making friends so come down and see us, call us, text us, write us, but make sure you book us so we can go have a good time fishing with you! We have Inshore, Nearshore, Offshore, and Headboat sound trips available. Call 441.6301 anywhere from 5AM to 7PM every day of the week and we will make it happen!
