Can every day be just as pretty as today was??? PLEASE??? The boats did pretty well today. Inshore had A GREAT morning and afternoon with the Trout! Limits of Puppy Drum and more Speckled Trout going home to the broiler. We had some THICK Bluefish come home today. Each one of them were the kind you couldn't touch your thumb to your middle finger if you wrapped your hand around them. NICE fish!!! Best breakfast on the beach is one that has a Bluefish cake right beside it! There were some Triggerfish, more Bluefish and Cobia's this morning AND this afternoon! Looking outside this window you can see why, slick calm and sunny has just GOT to be the recipe for our brown fish. OFFSHORE had some more Marlin action, We had our 5TH GRAND SLAM TODAY!!!! YeeHawww!!! Way to go guys!!! The other high boat had 11 Whites!!! 12 boats went out to the Gulfstream and our total billfish count for today is 42 White Marlin 3 Blue Marlin 1 Sailfish! Not too bad for 12 boats! If you are getting turned off with these billfish, we want you to know that this is not just any type of fishing. This kind of thing is World Class. There is no other place in the U.S. that you can see this many fish being caught daily like this. We have meat fish also, a lot of these boats pick up a big wahoo or a huge Gaffer dolphin while they are out Billfishing. We had a 38 Lb Gaffer Citation turned in and a few that were big but didn't make it to the 35LB citation mark. When you are out there fishing for White Marlin you are seeing the ocean explode with life. You get to witness first hand what you see on the Discovery Channel or National Geographic. These fish are getting together in huge schools and balling baitfish up, you are also learning how to drop back to a fish that is lit up like a glowworm, absolutely gorgeous and fierce. These fish are some of the most beautiful sights you will ever see on this planet and getting to catch them is an experience of a lifetime. Just think, some people go out fishing for a big Marlin or a Sailfish and never get to see one. Right now, you are just as close as it gets to getting that once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget! Come get your picture taken with the most beautiful fish in the sea, the one thing that got this place going 45 years ago. We are Oregon Inlet and this is what we live and breathe. Let us show you what this place is made of, hop on any type of fishing trip you prefer. We have everything you need just bring your smiling face and a couple people you love to be around and we will show you a great time out on the water!!!
Book online or call us in the next 2 minutes before we hit the road out of here. We do Make-Up trips for those who do not have enough people and need to get out to the blue water! Give us a call when you get going tomorrow morning and we will do our best to accommodate your fishing needs! Take it easy and have a wonderful evening!!!
The Spanish Mackerel fishing was AWESOME today :)
So good to see those little yellow polka-dotted fish, they are so pretty!!! Between them and the Bluefish and Speckled Trout, I'd say its going good for our Nearshore and Inshore boats! We had a half dozen Cobia's caught on this GORGEOUS day! The sun shining like it is, it's no wonder why we are getting our Spanish and Cobia's back! These summer days are going to be slipping out of our hands so make sure you treat them good while you've got them!!! Our boys headed North to Virginia Beach for the VBBT- Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament that starts tomorrow. We have 7 boats participating in this one. Tournament season is by far over yet. Get together with your friends and get in on the fun on an Inshore or Nearshore boat of your choice. We are booking up so don't wait too long! We are right by the phone waiting to talk to you so give us a holler!!! 252.441.6301 or 1.800.272.5199... Take a break from the land and sand and get out on the Salty Water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW, what a day! This morning was great for our Nearshores and Inshores. We had *Correction* EIGHT boats leave for the Virginia Beach Billfish Tourney today, -VBBT- One of our guys went fishing and then drove directly to Rudee Inlet, VB Virginia... So 8 of our guys will be fishing from Tomorrow until Saturday. Lets hope everyone has a great time and that they CATCH SOME FISH!!!! It's a GREAT time for a tournament that's for sure! Our high boat today had 18 White Marlin flags!!!! A lot of our boats had some high numbers of releases, not just one. 18,17,13,10,8,8,8,6,6
Out of all of the boats that did NOT fish the tournament and who returned home we had 14 go Offshore! So that makes 113 White Marlin releases ALONE just today! That's an average of 8 per boat. WOW! Pretty work to our Captains, Mates and especially our Anglers!!!!
We had a few Dolphin's brought home too, one weighed 31 Lbs! Other than that it was more of a Billfish day! Inshore took advantage of this absolutely GORGEOUS day and one Captain and Crew told me they caught well over 100 Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum. Pretty awesome! The headboat has been doing great too with the Gray Trout and Sea Mullet, Croakers, Pigfish, Pinfish and Bluefish. A couple Flounders as well. Please if you want to get on a trip DO NOT WAIT!!! We are fueled up, geared up, we have your Bait and Ice and all we need is YOU! Take the time to book online tonight with your friends/family and don't miss out!
Call us tomorrow after you jump out of bed and realize you aren't fishing 252.441.6301
Don't worry we know how it feels! Have a great night!
This Morning when some of us got to work we got to see something beautiful... an EMPTY creek!!! Every Offshore boat went and almost everyone else went too. Right now its empty again, Almost every PM trip is out right now. Lots of pretty Bluefish, a couple Spanish Mackerels, and a pile of Triggerfish were had on the Nearshore boats. Inshore are steady getting their Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum. Today they were caught on the Fly and on Jigs. Two very fun ways to fish, especially when the water is as SLICKKK calm as it is right now. Today is absolutely gorgeous it makes you just want to stare at it all day. We hope you are somewhere by the water with a rod in your hand but you should really think about borrowing one of ours on a AM or PM trip! Get up with us today and reserve a trip for tomorrow. We have a few available, get your phones out and store this number in your phone under OIFC- 252.441.6301. Days like these are days that shouldn't be wasted! Lets go fishing and make some new friends! We are also putting together Make-Up trips all day for Offshore tomorrow. Keep your phones near you so you can see when the boats start coming in! If you follow us on Twitter or "Like" us on Facebook you can get all of our notifications and updates!!! Enjoy your Tuesday!!! Check back for the PM report later...
First afternoon boat to come home was a Nearshore with a sweet catch of Bluefish. Then an Offshore that decided to come in early with some Tilefish, a couple Sea Bass, and a half dozen Tuna's. Then a few more boats came in with some more mix bags of meat fish including limits of Tiles, Amberjacks, a couple Tuna's, a handful of Dolphin, a few big gaffer dolphin, a couple Black Sea Bass, and some Wahoo's!!! There were 6 Wahoo's, biggest one weighing 48#, then 36#, and another one was 24#. The Billfish were on fire again today for the ones who fished for them! We had 87 White Marlin releases, A Sailfish release, and two Blue Marlin releases. It looks like 12 boats out of 24 went Billfishing and the rest went meat fishing. It was a good day to be on the water regardless. One of our Captains took his two 5 year old boys out and they ended up reeling in 9 White Marlin on a fun trip!!! There were a lot of kids on the water since it was going to be so gorgeous out there! Don't pass this time up to take your youngin's out while they are still little. Teach them something that no one else can but you! We have Offshore, Inshore, and Nearshore trips available of all shapes and sizes. Headboat trips, Inshore open boat trips, Nearshore ocean and wreck trips, fly fishing trips, and sound bottom fishing trips. Check out our Inshore report from this morning, This afternoon we saw Triggerfish and even some Cobias!!!!! The Headboat killed it today with the Sea Mullet and Gray trout! Puffer fish were good too. We have Offshore Make-Up trips where you get together with 5 other people. There are only 6 fish hungry people allowed Offshore, and Nearshore. Inshore is 1-4, and the Headboat holds up to 49 people so you can bring the whole family if that is better for you.
DO NOT WAIT TO BOOK A MAKE-UP, WE NEED TIME TO PUT YOUR TRIP TOGETHER!

Word on the stream is... Marlin fishing is kicking butt and taking names. NO, really. The billfish have continued to snap, today more so than any day this week. The weather started out tough in the morning but got better as the day went on. The conditions for the rest of the week will continue to get better and better as the week progresses too. Our high boat had 14 White Marlin releases but I believe there were more Marlin bites today than tunas. That could change but seeing a rigger full of flags gives me serious marlin anxiety, its so much FUN!!!!!!! One of our Captains reported seeing multiple fish cutting bait today. These fish are what we call "cutters" for that same reason. When the fishing gets like this you should forget about the meat and get your TLD's out. This is the one time of year that you want to take full advantage of so don't hesitate to book a trip before there aren't any left. We have other boats that do not fish in the gulf stream also if that's not your style. Nearshore boats have been getting great Bluefish and Sharks. This is the season for our Inshore boats and the Speckled Trout also. No matter what your preference is, this should be your sign. Get on the phone whenever you wake up or book yourself a trip right here online! These are the days we are jumping out of bed to get back out to the fish so set your alarms and lets roll! 252.441.6301 or 1.800.272.5199 Don't forget about our Headboat, she didn't fish today but she will be fishing every Monday through Saturday and tomorrow she will be ready to get back at it! Surprise the kids with a half day of fishing before they have to go back to school! Fishing is good for them!!!
Sooooo Friday was a pretty crazy day. It all started with 19 of our boats leaving to go offshore on a windy 5 a.m. morning. Being that it was the last day of the Pirate's Cove Big Game Tournament it was a big deal that our guys made their last day count! Unfortunately, some of them got about 5 miles out and just couldn't take it anymore because it was so rough. Almost all of the boats turned around and headed home. Out of everyone, 6 from our fleet didn't go home and decided to stick it out. What I later found out was that there was actually a small depression off the coast that came and went but made it pretty tough on our guys. Our guys ended up with 12 White Marlin and 2 Blue Marlin total for the day. Out of 9 of our boats from OIFC we are proud to say that the Rigged Up won FIRST place in the Blue Marlin category with their 400.1 fish! They also placed 1st and 2nd in the Tuna category! This landed our boys a fat check of $99,330.00!!! WAY TO GO GUYS!!!!
The Marlin fishing is straight up GOING OFF!!! (That would be a great boat name too by the way.... JUST SAYING) All of our Offshore boats were fishing in the tournament so there were no other fish to report.
NEARSHORE's still made it out on their AM trips and had some excellent luck with the Bluefish! There were over 150 caught just between 4 boats! We only had 1 INSHORE boat fish but they caught some Speckled Trout and a really nice Puppy Drum. They've been getting 'em good! Take a minute and plan yourself a trip with one of our first class charter boats before this summer is really over. This is what you want, good fishing right? 252.441.6301

15 boats fished offshore today and 2 Inshore's! Let me just say that seeing all the Tuna's, Wahoo's, and White Marlin flags today was a whole lotta AWESOME! There were 27 White Marlin flags flying, with the top boat having 7. Some crazy good Marlin fishing is going on right now and you have to get out there or you are never going find out!!! Its that time of the year so you will continue to see this as we work our way into the fall. We saw roughly 73 Yellowfin Tunas laying on the dock this afternoon and it was a good lookin' group of fish! One thing that was a pretty cool sight was watching 3 of our boats that dock right next to each other throw down at the same time with almost the same fish. The Wahoo's were biting today, we had 7 come in but I only found out what 4 of them weighed. They were 41#, 37#, 26#, and a 22#. A Wahoo citation is 40 pounds. Our Inshore's have been really getting on the Speckled Trout and Puppy Drums even in this rainy mess we have been having! Some of my favorite fishing is when I get to throw on some rain gear so don't let that be the reason you don't want to go! Go buy yourself some oil skins and get jacked up! Tomorrow we have 11 boats fishing offshore and some AM and PM Inshore and Nearshore trips still available. Call us as early as 5am (as long as you're not a grumpy morning person) or come down after 11am and catch a PM trip! You can do this any day of the week but we suggest booking in advance instead of last minute. Offshore trips are filling in next week so don't be the little piggy that cried all the way home!!! Book us conveniently online if you're ready now. You can also use this number 252.441.6301 or this one if you don't have free long distance 1.800.272.5199 Go get your FISH on and we'll see you at the dock! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS. JEAN!!!!!!!
I know everyone is enjoying this cooler weather, but I want the SUN BACK!!! Its starting to get on my nerves. We are still catching fish rain or shine so we can't complain too much. There were 28 White Marlin and 5 Sailfish caught today out of 22 of our boats. I would feel comfortable saying that roughly 11 of them were fishing for them. The others were Tuna fishing. We had a Bigeye come in early weighing 149 Lbs which is a Citation! They have to be 100 Lbs in order to turn one in. The Yellowfins were some studs also, our biggest one weighed was 67 Lbs. Citation for those is 70 but it was close. Other fish caught were Blackfin Tunas, some Dolphin, Tilefish, Black Sea Bass and a very nice but rare Codfish. The Tournament is still rockin', The Rigged Up and The Pelican both released 7 White Marlin today! Rigged Up is holding 2nd place as of right now, along with Trophy Hunter in 8th, Legacy in 9th, Bi-Op-Sea in 10th and Pelican in 11th. Let's keep our fingers crossed and say a Fisherman's prayer for them as they fish their last day! Stay focused guys, today is your day!!! If you haven't downloaded the PCBGT App onto your smartphones yet, you can do it for free and keep up with the leaderboard as well as keep up with us through Facebook and Twitter @FISHOIFC.
Other than Offshore our Inshore have been staying steady on the Speckled Trout on their AM and PM trips. Its giving us all a trout fishing 'itch' every time they come home with them. There have been Puppy Drum mixed in also with an occasional nice Bluefish or Nice keeper Flounder. Early yesterday morning a little boy woke his dad up saying he wanted to go catch a Flounder. His dad was able to come down to the Fishing Center early enough to book an AM Inshore trip. He must have really wanted that Flounder some kinda bad to get his old man up that early, but he ended up getting that flounder too! Made my day to hear that! Awesome job buddy!
Nearshore boats had some Bluefish this time around. If you've never had Bluefish fishcakes before you need to go get yourself an Outer Banks Locals cookbook and learn how to cook them! That's one of our favorite things for breakfast down here. Do yourself a favor and get on one of our boats and bring home the bacon. We are booking trips all day if you want to call us as early as 5AM until we close at 7PM. We can get you on the boat that is just right for you! Make- Up trips are $292 per person for Offshore and the Headboat is fishing 2 trips per day all the way until Saturday. Sundays are the only day the Miss Oregon Inlet does not fish. Take your kids fishing before you go home and get ready for school! Our Captains and Mates are all some of the best people around and are sure to make you feel right at home on the water. Don't be afraid of a little rain either. Yesterday the weather was still perfect to go fishing rain or not. It was just as slick calm and gorgeous out there. Put down the remote and throw your oilskins in the car. Book Online or Call 252.441.6301 or 1.800.272.5199 toll free
Don't worry we are still here and we still have you covered! Tuesday marked the first day to sink your baits in the Pirates Cove Big Game Tournament! Which we happen to have 11 boats fishing this year! The fish report wasn't easy to get since some of our boats aren't here, but for the end results of the day we had an excellent return! The first boat to come home went straight to the weigh scales at Pirates Cove with a 400.1 Lb Blue Marlin!!!In order to count the fish must weigh at least 400 Lbs! You can only imagine the excitement that went on when everyone saw Captain Charles Haywood's reaction! We also had Trophy Hunter release 4 White Marlin and a Blue Marlin, Legacy release 3 White Marlin and a Blue Marlin, Skirt Chaser release 3 White Marlin, Qualifier and Bi-Op-Sea both released 2 White Marlin, and Pelican released 1 White marlin. Our other boats that fished offshore came in with a lot of Yellowfin tunas, which is awesome to see! We had Blackfin's mixed in with them too. More Wahoo's, 2 40 pounders and one 38 Lb. Still had some gaffers and bailer dolphins too. Fishing has been good inshore with the Speckled Trout. Yesterday it was more Bluefish, Triggerfish, and Sharks for our Nearshore crowd. We have plenty of trips available this week if you are ready to get out on the water! Its a fun week to be fishing! Make- Up trips are 292$ per person if you need to make some friends, but if you have way too many then divide them into teams of 6 and book as many boats as you can!!! 252.441.6301
Today was going to be a rough one so a lot of boats decided to make this their lay day. We don't really have a great report for you besides some nice Speckled Trout fishing and some Tunas and Wahoo's. A lot of the boats came in a couple hours early and had some Blackfin's and some Yellowfins. Not sure if this is 100% but there was only 1 White Marlin reported out of 10 boats that went. Tomorrow should be much better and the weather should calm down overnight. Right now the Leaderboard is Sniper, Trophy Hunter, and Rigged Up. We look forward to seeing what tomorrow will bring!!! Good luck to all of the Anglers!!!
Remember our Make-Up trips are 292$ per person if you do not have 6 people. We have trips available this week so don't delay, book today!!! Please.
252.441.6301 or book online! Follow us on Twitter and Facebook tomorrow for updates @FISHOIFC! See you at the dock!
Saturday's fishing report was a little hard to give since we had 10 boats go Offshore and 2 AM trips for Inshore/Nearshore. Out of the 10 boats we had 21 Billfish releases though!!! A nice average! The high boat had 6 White Marlin and 2 Sails and we also had a boat release a GRAND SLAM!!! That would be the 4th Grand Slam for the season! We still got some Yellowfin Tunas and Dolphins. There were 3 limits of Dolphin and 1 thick catch of Tunas! George, the mate on the Seabreeze, told me that they were bailing dolphin and had a Blue Marlin plow through the middle of them to grab a little lunch! That would have been a killer sight to see! There were a couple tunas that also got a tail knocked off by a shark.
Saturdays fishing really made us think that Sunday was going to be great, The Alice Kelly Ladies Tournament was on Sunday. There were 59 boats entered in the tournament and 19 of them were ours. Everyone left a little late Sunday morning around 6, the rules say that every boat cannot put their lines in the water until 9AM (and lines out at 3PM). The water was slick calm out there just like glass, it couldn't have been better. The conditions looked like we were going to have some great fishing too. We ended up with 4 Sailfish 8 White Marlin and 2 Blue Marlin out of our fleet. The First place boat from was the Sniper from Virginia Beach, VA with 1 Blue Marlin and 3 White Marlin. Second place was our very own Bi-Op-Sea with 2 White Marlins and 1 Sailfish! Our other two boats got trophy's also: The Rigged Up for the biggest Wahoo weighing 36 Lbs and The Skiligal won the Dolphin Calcutta of $6,800.00 with a 36 Lb Dolphin!!! Pretty work you guys! We are so proud of you!!! Congratulations to everyone who did well in the tournament!!!
Monday was a turn around, we had 36 White Marlin A Blue Marlin, 4 Wahoo, and a 29 and 36 Lb Dolphin caught! The Blackfin tunas really showed up also. We are all assuming the wild lightning and rain storms we had must have washed us out on Sunday because fishing picked right back up after one day. We hope that this week is going to be completely insane fishing for our boats who are entered in the Pirates Cove Big Game Tournament that starts today (Tueday)! Tuesday through Friday we should be seeing some major fishing reports. Don't forget that we have boats that are not fishing in this tournament that are available for you!!! There are no good reasons why you shouldn't take this opportunity to go fishing right now. The weather is clear and this is really something you don't want to miss. Our high boat had 8 White Marlins today!!! If Offshore isn't your thing, We have Inshore and Nearshore-
Half Day and Full Day trips. They have some great fishing going on too. This is the time you want to go catch some of the Speckled Trout, Puppy Drum and even a Flounder or two. We have Fly Fishing boats that are catching the same things and also having some Spinner Shark and Cobia action on Fly and Spinning reels. We had 6 Cobia's caught on Sunday and also a couple nice fish boxes full of Triggerfish Nearshore. Take the kids fishing right off the beach to catch our Bluefish and Spanish, or even some White Dotter Sharks! They will absolutely love it! Our pictures are still giving us a hard time right now so please know that you can always check them out on our Facebook "Like" Page. Look for the Facebook logo on our Home page in the top left corner and click on it. Today we will update you with everything you need to know that is happening down at OIFC via Facebook and Twitter. Don't wait to book a trip this week, they will not last! Call 252 441.6301 and get in on the action or you will be kicking yourself later! Have a great day and stay tuned for more!
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE FISHING IN THE TOURNAMENT!!!!!! DAY ONE BRING IT ON!!!!
Today it was a great SHARK WEEK day for the Inshore/Nearshore fleet! We had some good Spinner Shark releases and White Dotter Shark fishing!!! White dotters are great to eat and a lot of fun to catch! There was a Citation turned in for a 4 LB Black Sea Bass!!! It looked like a Largemouth Bass it was that big. So cool!!! We had some Triggerfish, a Gray Trout, a Ribbonfish, some Croakers, Sea Mullet, and Spanish Mackerels brought in too! Our Speckled Trout fishing is really heating up! The people had a great time catching those, lots of action! We had 4 Cobia's come in that weighed up to 40 Lbs! Get on board with our Inshore/Nearshore fleet before the summer is over! We have a few trips available this weekend, call us today at 252.441.6301 and go enjoy one of these beautiful days out on the water!!! Check out our Facebook and Twitter for updates this afternoon!
Okay Folks if you are wondering why you cannot see any pictures it is NOT your computer! Our website is down right now. We should be back up tomorrow!
Just because the pictures are down doesn't mean I cannot tell you about the fishing luckily! We had 14 Offshore boats go out this morning, and they all came home with a great day!
We had a Grand Slam caught today!!! Another boat almost got one but didn't quite get the last fish that was a sail. Out of all of the billfish released today we added these to our Billfish Board: 16 Sailfish, 19 White Marlin, and 2 Blue Marlin!!! That is 37 Billfish releases not including the ones hooked. With only 14 boats, those fish alone made today a great one!
Other fish caught were 4 limits of dolphin, and 6 Wahoo. Our Inshore report was put up before this one if you haven't already seen it. There were 2 boats that went on PM trips this afternoon but I didn't catch what they had. So lets just make this short and sweet, YOU SHOULD GO FISHING RIGHT NOW. 252.441.6301!!!!! or BOOK ONLINE!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want to see some pictures go to our Facebook "Like" page and check us out!!!!! We can't wait to see you tomorrow!!! Happy Billfishing to those going tomorrow!!!
