Well today was a little harder than usual trying to find the boats to get the pictures but we are going to be just fine! We have boats at Pirates Cove, Broad Creek, Shallowbag Bay, and Wanchese Landing right now. 9 boats went Offshore and 5 or 6 Inshore and Nearshore. Hopefully Thursday will be a little easier to get all of the pictures now that everyone has gotten to their slips. Today there were some good Bluefish catches, Puppy Drum, Wahoo, Dolphin and we had some Blackfins and Yellowfin Tunas. Check us out on Facebook Thursday as we post each catch as they come in. 1.800.272.5199
Well, good news is.... our boats are still holding!!! We had 12 OIFC boats fish today. Our Nearshore killed it with the Bluefish and a couple Spanish... Inshore had all day trips and word is they found some Triggers, Puppy Drum and even some PIG Sheepshead! One was over 8 lbs!!! They are located at the Wanchese Landing. Offshore guys had LIMITS of Dolphin and a few Blackfin, or a Wahoo thrown in. The Offshore boats are at both Pirates Cove and Broad Creek Marina. We want to thank both Marinas for opening their doors to us during this time. We have faith that this will be over soon and things will return back to normal. Our Vacationers do NOT deserve this. Speaking to them this afternoon was very upsetting to know that they came here to enjoy what we are all about, and we can't even give it to them. Luckily the people can see that we stick together when times get tough!!! Thank You to our loyal Anglers and our Fishing Families!!! Contact our Captains directly through their profile pages here on our website or theirs. Call 1.800.272.5199 and we will help you the best way we can. Almost every boat is going on Saturday and over 14 boats for tomorrow. We are anxious to see what comes in, the boats have been coming in around 3:45-4:45 so come down to any one of the Marina's if you want to watch the guys bring in the fish. You can find them at Broad Creek who has 7 of our Offshore boats, Wanchese Landing that has 4 of our Nearshore and 2 of our Inshore boats and Pirates Cove who has the other 16 Offshore plus 1 Nearshore boat. This weekend is going to be gorgeous, we sure hope you will be enjoying it with your polarized sunglasses on and a rod in your hand. Have a great night everyone! See you at the dock (s).
Well friends, if you haven't already heard... The Fishing Center is temporarily closed due to the Government Shut Down. Until they figure things out it will remain closed. We will fill you in with every update possible as soon as something changes. This will NOT change the fact that we are still booking trips and STILL GOING FISHING!!! This is a tough time for our Country right now but it will be something to remember and we will all look back on this someday. We are SO READY for October and there is no reason we should let this get in the way! Fishing was good on this first day of October...
Today we had 6 Offshore boats go out and another 2 Inshore. Tuna fishing was steady with Blackfin and Yellowfins. Almost every single boat had a Wahoo and some even had 2! Inshore was perfect with limits of Puppy Drum, a couple Flounder, some Gray Trout and Bluefish!
We've got some boats fishing tomorrow and we will be booking trips like we always do through our wonderful 800 number 1.800.272.5199. We are still doing make-up trips at $292 per person! You may also call our Captains with the phone numbers listed on their profile pages on our website.
Stay VERYYY Tuned in to our Facebook "Like" page, Twitter @FISHOIFC, and Instagram pages. Whatever we have to give to you we will give it through our Media. Thank you in advance for still continuing to fish with your friends and family at OIFC whether we are physically at the Marina or NOT!!!!!!!!!! We BREATHE OIFC, no matter WHERE we are! Give us a call today or book it right here online! Have a WONDERFUL night everyone!!!
I know I know, WHATS Up with the FISHING!?!?!!!!
The only picture we've got for you is from an Inshore boat this Sunday. There were witness protection issues, but the unknown angler looks like they had a great day!! (LOL Aaron!) Friday through Monday were pretty much blow days for most of us and today would mark the 4th day at the dock for our Offshore boats. Winds blew 25 knots out of the NE Friday and then off and on 20- 30 through the weekend. Today was the last of the wind because tomorrow and Wednesday are supposed to be beautiful and our boats are happy to be starting their engines bright and early!!!
Can you believe that when you wake up in the morning it will also be the FIRST day of OCTOBER!!! How crazy is that?!! Man that went by fast! The best part is that we still have some great fishing to look forward to, and there are a lot of trips booked this month. Please, as we have begged you before, make sure you book your trip in advance so you do not miss out! We have a lot of trips to choose from:
Inshore can take 1-4 people,
Nearshore is 1-6 people and also offers Make-Up trips that are 90$ per person. They are a little harder to put together so make sure you sign up right away. A Make-Up is where we put you with 5 other people so that you can pay per person. Our Offshore boats can take 1-6 people and Make-Up trips are $292 per person. Our favorite thing to do is take you fishing so don't hesitate to call us when you are ready!!! This year has shown us the best fishing in 10 years, as some of you already know first hand, it just makes it that much more exciting to dive into October!
Our beautiful Headboat the *Miss Oregon Inlet* will be fishing 1 trip a day (as long as we have 10 people) from 8:30-12:30 until October 31st! The biggest Croaker I ever saw on the Miss O.I. was 5 LBS and was caught in October. Get the kids out and catch them some fun before the Fall is over!!!
Be sure to stay connected with us VIA Facebook ("Like" page), Twitter(@FISHOIFC), and Instagram (OREGONINLETFISHINGCENTER). It only takes a minute to set up your smartphones to receive our updates and notifications when the boats are coming in!
****CONGRATULATIONS to Captain Tom's family on THE HOOKER! Kelly & Andy made somebody a grand- daddy for the second time today!!! Watch out folks, the next generation is on the way!! ;)****
Have a great night everyone!!!
Other than the 15 White Marlin and 2 Sailfish we released, there were a nice amount of Yellowfin's and Dolphin thrown on the dock today! We had a monster Mako Shark as well! This big guy came to the scales with 143 lbs of muscles! Great Job Chris Massoth from Kitty Hawk, on your fish buddy!!! Inshore had some beautiful Puppy Drum and Gray Trout. Only saw a few Speckled Trout but had more Flounder this time. Nearshore had some great morning trips with some great Bluefish catches. A couple guys went for the action with the Amberjacks. They are a lot of fun with TONS of pull, the people looked like they had a great time with them! Fall fishing is heating up and we are super excited to get you on the fish! We are booking fishing trips all day and getting lots of people in the afternoons signing up for Make-Up trips. If you do not have enough people to go fishing you shouldn't get discouraged! Make-Up Offshore trips are $292 per person! We also offer Make-Ups for Nearshore for the low rate of $90 per person. Get on board today by signing up! We are excited for what Fall has in store for us! 252.441.6301 or 1.800.272.5199. You may also book ONLINE by clicking back to the Home Page!

We will check back with you in the morning and let you know what's going on for the weekend!
Hey Joe! I found out how to spell Smorgasbord!!! :)
Haha! Well folks, this was turned out to be another nice day of fishing! With a couple great catches of Yellowfin Tuna's, some Dolphin catches, and a few boats still found the White Marlin bite out there. We had 12 boats go out and 5 were mainly Marlin fishing, a few boats caught a smorgasbord of everything but our Marlin count for the day was 31 Whites and 1 Blue Marlin (plus another 2 White Marlin from a Nearshore boat making 33 Whites). The Nearshore guys came home with some really nice sized Spanish Mackerels, some Bluefish and we still had ourselves some Triggerfish. One of our Nearshore boats went out on an Offshore trip which doesn't happen very often and got some Dolphin and 2 White Marlin, so if you add those 2 to the count we had 33 White Marlin releases. There were 2 boats that had a few interesting stories this afternoon. One had a couple Shark bites that sounded pretty exciting with a monster Hammerhead for one, and a 7-8 foot Mako Shark that was pretty angry! You must be super careful with a green Shark like this or someone could really get hurt. The same guy caught both of these Sharks so you know he was worn slam out! Our other boat had an interesting find with a 15 foot buoy that was lost out there, they were pretty sure it would have held a nice catch of some Gaffer Dolphin but come to find out it had not a single fish on it. The guys brought it home since it could be dangerous to another vessel and showed the crowd along with their catch! They also had a 22 lb Wahoo and a 17 lb King Mackerel! Kings are another fun part of our Fall fishing and we are hoping to see them show up soon! Inshore fishing was beautiful today as well, The guys had some gorgeous limits of 1 per person Puppy Drums and a few Gray Trout. Speckles are still out there but they are more happy with the warmer water. This is going to be a very interesting Fall from all of the signs of fishing we are getting, and we Cant WAIT to see what comes home today! There is NO better place on Earth to be fishing than Oregon Inlet Fishing Center! We have had lots of Make-Up parties put together this week and the people are still booking. Our afternoons have gotten lots of people signing up so get on the list and lets get you out there! Call us as soon as you are ready at 252.441.6301 and lets go have a Fall Ball!!!
Nearshore Makeup trips are 90$ per person and Offshore Makeup trips are 292$ per person. Our Miss Oregon Inlet Headboat is going out once a day from 8:30 to 12:30 so do not forget to get onboard before October 31st, which is her last day of fishing. Plan a trip before its all booked up with the kids! The headboat does not sail on Sundays so keep that in mind also. We have some boats available for each type of fishing you are looking for but spaces are limited so call as soon as possible! Have a great day and look for our updates on Twitter and Facebook to see when our boats are coming under the bridge! See you at the dock!
September 22nd Fishing report:

We had some CRAZY good Tuna Fishing today! HOT DAG! Every boat that went Tuna fishing was back home and filling up barrels with our meaty silver bullets. White Marlin boats had some luck also, Our high boat had 16 Whites. Some of the Meat fishing boats had Blue Marlin bites in the Tunas. One boat snagged a 450 lb fish on a tuna rig. Captain said they chased that thing all around the ocean trying to get it to the boat for a release. Fishing is HOT right now, get on board with your favorite fleet of world class fishermen! Call us from 5am to 7pm at 252.441.6301 We have Makeup trips being put together every day for 292$ per person and Nearshore as well at $90 per person. Lets GO FISHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marlin fishing continued to be another great success. Not as many as yesterday but there were still boats with numbers like 15, 11, and 8. We had more boats fish for Tuna today than Marlin and had a nice average of Yellowfin and Blackfin. No Bigeye's today but being we had a Full Moon we thought there might be another one caught. A lot of the Captains said that there were double the fish seen to the number caught so the fish are still everywhere. Its hard to hook every single fish but there is definitely a technique to successfully dropping back to them. Once you know how it can be pretty addicting to want to do. Most of the boats that targeted strictly Billfish came home with over 8 fish or some had one or so less but had some dolphin or a couple tunas. There were tons of Wahoo's caught today also. We had a big one weighing 43 pounds which is 3 pounds over a Citation. They must be 40 lbs to count as a citation. Some guys had a nice catch of Gaffer Dolphin as well. A variety of fish is hard to get but it was seen more today. Inshore had a couple Cobia's with some Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum and Nearshore brought in some Amberjacks and couple great piles of Bluefish. We have AM and PM trips open Saturday if you need to get off land for a few, our booking desk girls are up and booking trips from 5am to 7pm and also booking Make-Ups at $292 per person. Feel free to give us a call and sign up for an Offshore or Nearshore Make-Up trip (Nearshore is $90 per person but can sometimes be harder to get so make sure you buy your ticket asap) The Headboat will go out once on Saturday from 8:30 to 12:30 and we need 10 people to go so get your tickets for the Miss Oregon Inlet sooner than later too! We have almost every single Offshore boat fishing Saturday so come on down and see what we are bringing in! You can also follow us on Twitter, Instagram and our Facebook "Like" page to see the up to the minute updates! See you at the dock!!!
Dolphin fishing was GREAT today! There was an average of 5 Yellowfin Tuna's per boat along with the occasional Wahoo. We had a really big Wahoo caught today while the guys were Billfishing. Our White Marlin fishing was still going on, some had great luck, and some had it a little slower. But that's fishing and we have been pretty blessed this Marlin season! Our weather is supposed to be fine and dandy for tomorrow and we have a bunch of boats going at it again. It was rainy off and on out there today but its supposed to clear up by tomorrow if we even get anymore tonight. Don't forget that we offer Make-Up trips starting at $292 per person for Offshore, and Nearshore Make- ups for 90$ per person! If you want to go sooner it is very very smart to go ahead and sign up! Call us in the morning at 252.441.6301 after you have had 5 cups of coffee and you are completely JACKED UP to go fishing! Or come down to the fishing center since you will be REALLY awake and have some coffee on our front porch! We want to go fishing but all we need is YOU! Inshore have been having great Bluefish fishing too! We had a couple boats go out and bring in some huge Amberjacks today. The weather is trying to hold on to the warm sunny days but being that tomorrow is the first day of Fall, we need to take advantage of it before its gone! Grab yourselves some fishing trips this week before its too late! We cant wait to see you out on the water!!! Have a great night friends!!!

TOMORROW IS THE FIRST DAY OF FALL so Enjoy!!!!
Our Marlin fishing is insane. Period. This was a stellar day for the boats that went billfishing. Top boat landed 29 White Marlin, WOW! 2nd top boat had 25! WOW! 2 boats also came in with 18 flags flying and another with 15. (We can't wait to see what happens today!!!)
Our Tuna fishing was on point yesterday with some nice Yellowfin's, Blackfin's and we even got to see a 203 Bigeye Tuna hoisted from the fish box. David Erhardt from Pittsburg, PA was completely blown away that he caught such a fish. They had some Yellowfin Tuna also and he told us that before the Bigeye was hooked, the biggest fish he had ever caught was one of the Yellowfin's. Little did he know he would be hooked up to a mini submarine moments later! Great Job Dave and Crew! We will have to wait and see what today brings us. Captain Billy Maxwell says the Bigeye's love a Full Moon and last night we surely had a gorgeous Harvest Moon shining down on us. Good Luck to the lucky people fishing today!!! We had 3 Wahoo, a Sailfish and roughly 40 dolphin caught also.
Nearshore had some more Excellent Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel fishing and one of our All Day trips landed some really nice Amberjacks. We have a couple boats open this morning if you can make the call early enough to get a ride out and enjoy the morning on the water. The Headboat went out and caught lots of Flounder, Sea Mullet and Bluefish. They are still running trips once a day all the way through Oct. 31st from 8:30am to 12:30pm so don't miss out!!! Our other Inshore boats had some great luck with the Trout fishing, both Speckles and Gray. Now's the time to target Trout if that's what you've been waiting for. The month of September is their best season and they too love the full moon! We have AM and PM or ALL day trips still available if you wake up this morning in a panic after you realize you aren't fishing!

Well Sunday was another banner day with lots of Marlin releases. There were over 75 White Marlin and Billfish releases Sunday. One boat had 14 White Marlin, 3 boats had 10, and 2 boats had 4 White Marlin releases! We also had our top boat who returned with an unbelievable day of 24 White Marlin!!! On top of that, 18 were caught by the Captain's girlfriend and 6 by the Mate's little boy! Way to go Katherine and Luke!!!! There was also a nice catch of Yellowfin Tuna's brought home and some Dolphin and Wahoo!
Inshore had 2 AM trips that provided some great Speckled Trout fishing once again and even some Flounder and Cobia. The other boat had some pretty Gaffer Dolphin and some Albacore.
Fishing hasn't shown us anything but great results and we are still in the heat of the month even though there has been a slight temp. change. Feel free to call us anytime between 5AM and 7PM to schedule your Fishing Trip with exactly what you are looking for. Come spend time with some of the best Captains and Mates on the East Coast and be our friends for life! Call 252.441.6301 or book right here online! Monday was LOADED with bites. Top boat had 21 White Marlin, then 17, 14, 13, 10, 9, 9, 8, 7 and a Sail, 7, 5, 5 and a couple more that were mixed with other fish.
Over 140 bites for the day made a lot of people pretty happy! There was a great catch of Yellowfin Tunas and some Dolphin and Wahoo brought in too. The fishing is really doing some business with all the life going on in the ocean right now. There are SO MANY Marlin swimming out there! There are hundreds and hundreds of fish seen every day! These fish are hard after bait balls of Pilchards (Sardines) and are schooling them up to the top to slowly pick at them and get their bellies full. We in return get to witness the fish breaking through the surface "cutting". This is how these fish get named- "cutters" and they are no joke. Their colors are lit up and glowing through the blue water. Its more fun to experience in person of course but once you have seen what Im talking about you will never forget! The water is crystal clear and there are loads of fish chasing and darting at the baits. Its some of the most exciting fishing you can ask for. The Yellowfin and Dolphin are still out there in all of this life as well, and its pretty much why we have seen so many Blue Marlin this past week. The month is nowhere near over and we still have our fall fishing to look forward to. Do not forget the Inshore fleet that is steady getting their rod tips bowed over with Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum. Some of our favorite fishing is right in our backyard. There was also a Cobia caught by a cute lady angler that was a STUDDDD fish and also had one caught on a Nearshore boat. Nearshore also caught Spanish Mackerels, Bluefish and Triggerfish. Triggerfish are some GOOD eating and so are our Blues and Macks. If you get catch some Bluefish and Spanish with us make sure you try to make some fishcakes with them! You will not be disappointed!!!
IF you don't already know it, we do Make-Up trips for Nearshore and Offshore boats. Do try to sign up as soon as you know you're ready to go so that you can ensure your chances of going fishing! We will be booking trips all week Sunday to Sunday 5AM to 7AM, so please give us a call and get in on some action you don't want to miss! 252.441.6301 you can also book on-line by going to the homepage and finding your boat! Its never too late to book soooo lets go fishing!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAPTAIN CHARLES HAYWOOD!!!!!! We hope you had a great day!!!!!!
Today was declared a ~Blow Day~ for our Offshore fleet but some of our Nearshore and Inshore boats did make it out! Most of the boats got their fish cleaned before we could get a picture of them so that made it a little harder for us to get you in on the action but they were certainly caught! There were lots of Bluefish and Spanish however, and everyone who went fishing were said to have had a good trip! The wind was blowing 25kts but when you looked out pass the Coast Guard Station it was actually a nice sunny day to be fishing Inshore. We are going to see what tomorrow brings, some guys booked out because of the weather but then opened themselves back up in case things fall out. The moon is bright tonight and a certain trout whisperer told me that a full moon is where its at. Hopefully we will find out soon!!! Well we hope you enjoy your moon tonight but make sure you wear your pajama pants if you go outside, its 64 DEGREES out there! Brrrr. Its kind of nice though! Its not too late to give us a call in the morning if you want to go try it out! We have AM and PM trips open and ready for you and your families and friends to hop on board!!!! 252.441.6301, Have a *Great* night everyone! We hope to see your friendly faces at the docks tomorrow! Nighty Night!!!
Happy 16th Birthday Abby Haywood!!!!!!
The day started out slow being we only had 15 boats fishing and they were all Offshore boats. The weather was a little too choppy for our Inshore and Nearshore fleet to chance it. The guys started coming in close to 4:00 with some gorgeous Yellowfin Tuna's, a couple Dolphin, 2 Wahoo, and a few billfish releases. We had 36 White Marlin released, with one boat catching 21 of them! Congratulations to Team Bi-Op-Sea for a great day and also winning the Oregon Inlet Billfish RoundUp Tournament- with their catch of 11 whites and a Blue the first day, 8 whites the second, and 21 White Marlin on the last day! That's 41 fish in 3 days!!! Great job guys!!!
There were a few boats that really got in the bite yesterday from 21, 12 and 10 White Marlin releases!
One of our boats had a phenomenal day with their total of 3 Blue Marlin, 3 Sailfish, and 5 Yellowfin Tunas. These guys not only caught 3 Blue ones in one day but the last fish was brought to the weigh scales this time. At 698 lbs the fish was a MONSTER! We have not seen a fish that big come in to the marina in a while now. Congratulations to the Dream Girl on your day! Captain Carson Forrester and Mate William Howell (19 years old) did an outstanding job. For a 19 year old to already have a fish like that under his belt is beyond exciting!!! For all of you who wonder what we do with a fish that size, you CAN eat Blue Marlin! And WE DO! They are having it lined up to be smoked, which is the best way to eat it! There were 5 Blue Marlin total that were caught and 5 Sailfish! 50 Billfish for our Saturday! Not bad at all!
This week has really shown more Blue Marlin than we have seen and our Billfish board is getting higher and higher every day! There are over 900 White Marlin releases already for the Month of September and it is only the 14th! This is a big deal after the August fishing we had that was 1,023 Whites for the whole month! Fishing has been insane this year and the good signs keep rolling in, PLEASE do yourselves a favor and be a part of it!!! Call us anytime between 4:30 AM and 7:00 PM to book a boat of your choice, get on a Make-Up trip, or go out on our lovely headboat the Miss Oregon Inlet! She sails one trip a day now until Halloween and it leaves the dock at 8:00 and gets back at 12:30. Our Make-Up trips can be for Offshore or Nearshore. Offshore is $292 per person and Nearshore is $90 per person. Nearshore is harder to put together so if you can let us know early there will be a much better chance. Inshore has been really getting the Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum, and we are still seeing Cobia's brought in! Nearshore has had some excellent Bluefish fishing and we just saw our first sign of King Mackerels this week! So take your pick, Tuna salad or Mackerel salad!
Let us know your flavor, 252.441.6301 or book ONLINE! Check out more pictures of the daily fishing reports on our Facebook "like" page! and hit LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
