WHAT? I'm serious!!!
SO- today there were more Yellowfins, most of the guys had close to a limit if not a limit. Plus the Blackfins were mixed in. There were a few Wahoo and a couple dozen Dolphin also. Our people left with smiles on their pretty little faces. That's how we like it!
Our White Marlin fishing is EPIC, Do you hear me???, EPIC!!!!! Its time to get out here with us and put a pole in your hand if you want to find out what we are talking about! We had 71 White Marlin and 2 Blue Marlin releases today!!!!! That was out of 13 boats, and only 6 boats that went Billfishing!!! Most of the guys that went meat fishing today told me they were ready to go get into the billfish now that they had their tuna's. Sounds like a smart move. Imagine going home with some tuna plus another killer day of Marlin fishing to go with it. Nothing wrong with turning right back around and getting back at it while we still have boats open. Phones have been ringing all day and we have been booking trips so LISTEN TO ME HERE, IF you want to go, You will hug yourself for it! Yes, awkward I know, but it happens.
Our Inshore and Nearshore fleet have been catching some of the biggest Bluefish we have had all season and we even had a couple 4 lb Spanish Mackerels come in. Nothing better than seeing those pretty fish piled up on the dock like they were today, and this past week. We are loving this Nearshore bite, oh and then the Inshore guys filled me in that it is "Crazy Speckled Trout Fishing right now". Word for word. One boat had 3 Cobia's along with a limit of Speckled Trout, and another catch that almost exactly the same. There was a pretty sick catch of Dolphin and Cobia also. The Miss O.I. is running one trip a day now from 8-12:30 and they even got on the fish today as well. Those guys had good Sea Mullet Bluefish and Blowfish catches.

You want the number? You got it! 252.441.6301 or 1.800.272.5199 Its time to go fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bangin', like lightning. Duh. :)
We had 4 out of 10 boats roll in today with boxes full of Blackfins! Everyone got more than enough to take home for dinner there's no doubt! And they got in early which was great since we had some CRAZY thunder and lightning storms come through. The storms were supposedly Offshore where the boats were with the Tuna's. Our Marlin fishing boats were in a different area than the Tuna boats, different as in 40 miles!!! So you can see why they didn't just pick up and troll the rest of the afternoon. Our high boat came home with 13 White Marlin, but we had 6 boats Billfishing. The count went from 13 to 8,8,8,7, and 6. That's 50 fish! The Blackfin's were schooling hard out there so our guys had no problem getting their fish in the boat, we even had one citation Blackfin that was right at the 20 lb citation mark! We had a little over a dozen Yellowfin Tunas AND Dolphin, also one Wahoo.
There were a ton of boats that got booked today so the trips are steady filling in. Our Nearshore and Inshore are too, today they had piles of Bluefish, Triggerfish, and a pair of Cobia's! The Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum are still here too, and we saw a limit of those. September is looking great folks, now's the time to get your plans together. Book your trip in advance and get jacked up to go get on these fish! You've got 2 Months to plan something and then we have to wait for the Bluefin's and Rockfish. A fishing trip is a GREAT Birthday present, JUST.SAYING! ;) ;) Fishing trips are pretty much the best gift you could ever give anyone, Birthdays, Christmas, or just because ya kinda deserve it!!!
Call us anytime you need fishing therapy, we are here to listen....252.441.6301 or 1.800.272.5199
Whhhhaattttt!!!!!????? Is it REALLY September??
Unbelievable that we are now starting the last month of sunshine :( We are still rollin' though!!
Today there were approximately 17 White Marlin caught, but that is because it was a MEAT FEST on the deck this afternoon! We had over 175 Blackfins and limits of dolphin lined up back to back with each other. A couple Yellowfin are still showing up but the ones that do are some nice ones! It looked like we had a pretty huge Bull dolphin caught out there today, he was most definitely over 35 lbs... When their heads are comparable to the size of a stop sign you know they are going to be a record fish! A couple Wahoo's were going on the grill tonight too but we will be seeing more of those and the Mako's through September we hope. There have been 4 or 5 Mako's caught within the last week and the biggest one I have heard about was 150 lbs so far. Mako (shark) and Wahoo are some GOOD Eating!! But they are not as common to find as Tuna and Dolphin unfortunately... so if you get one, its definitely a treat!!!
Inshore had a great day with the Triggerfish and Speckled Trout! Speckles do well with the full moon so keep that in mind too, (pssstt... book your trip in advance so you don't miss out!)
One Cobia brought in this morning as well, they are still out there my friends, keep your bucktails out.
Nearshore had another great round of Bluefish and Spanish fishing this morning and afternoon. It was super gorgeous right outside the inlet, it sprinkled off and on but the sun was around the majority of the day for them thank goodness!

SO, here's how today went...
Aprox. 12:30pm We were all enjoying our Labor Day Party with loads of food that everyone brought in today and watching all of the people come in and shop, when out of the blue the Osprey pulls in. A couple of us went over to see what he had and sure enough he was laying out Tuna's!! The fish cleaners, Dominique and Demerick grab the barrels and start loading fish. We went back inside and I get a text of a fish picture, It was the Tuna Fever, He has a LIMIT of Yellowfin and 20 some Blackfins! Next we see the Smoker easing in the creek with his meat flag up, ANOTHER Limit of YELLOWFIN!!! Along with 20+ Blackfin again! Lastly we see the Legacy back in at 1:30 with another LIMIT of Yellowfin's!!!!!! and a dozen Blackfin's. We had 6 boats fish Offshore today so that was the 4 that went Tuna fishing. The other 2 came in later but they were Marlin Fishing. The Pelican ended up with 11 White Marlin and one Blue Marlin!!!! Strike 'Em came in with 4 White Marlin and 2 Wahoo's! Fishing is seriously starting to give us some unexpected surprises and we are super excited to get back out there! Give us a call if you are pacing back and forth in your hallway dialing all your friends up on the cell phone to go fishing, its time! Book online or just call your friends at the Fishing Center at 252.441.6301 or 1.800.272.5199... We have 4 pictures for you tonight... enjoy! Nighty Night!!!

Hot dag there were impressive fish brought in this afternoon!!! Out of 12 Offshore boats there were 32 Whiteys caught!!! White Marlin are all over the place and you better believe they are still going off! Today may have been a little slower than the last few days but that doesn't mean anything for this Labor Day weekend. The big fish of today consisted of a 113 Lb Mako Shark which was the biggest Mako of the summer, a pair of gorgeous yellowfin tunas that were 63 and 64 pounds, a 55 Lb Wahoo!!!, and a 38 & 34 Lb Gaffer Dolphin!!!!! Tomorrow we have approximately 20 boats fishing Offshore so stay tuned to Facebook and Twitter to find out when our boats are coming in! We have Make-Up trips being booked daily for 292$ per person when you are ready to book your dates!

......itttsss timeee to goooo fishhhinnggggg......
Wednesday was a crazy overcast drizzly day as far as weather goes. There were some tiny showers offshore and inshore felt like a microwave. The sun stayed behind the clouds all day but it was HOT! Inshore and Nearshore were successful with the Bluefish, Spanish, Amberjacks, False Albacore, Triggerfish, Sea Bass, Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks (Whitedotter's) and some nice Flounder this time! We had a Flounder weighed in at 6 LBS!!!! Pretty sweet!!! The first couple Offshore boats to come in yesterday had a box full of Blackfin Tuna's and some gaffers! We also saw a nice Wahoo come in. When you catch a lot of meat fish you really have to be careful to keep the fish packed in ice on the ride home so they stay as fresh as possible. Our Marlin fishing boats came in a little after and the numbers continue to be outstanding. Out of 12 boats that went billfishing we had 94 White Marlin releases!!! The other 3 boats had almost 80 Blackfins, a dozen Dolphin, and a nice Wahoo! When you are ready to book your trip give us a call, we have dates available and Make-Up trips are being put together every day. Only 292$ per person will get you in the gulfstream. If you're ready to catch that wall hanger, we are ready to take you!!! If you're not fishing, you're not catching either! 1.800.272.5199 or 252.441.6301 or BOOK ONLINE
Check us out on our Facebook Oregon Inlet Fishing Center "Like page", Twitter @FISHOIFC, and Instagram! for updates and tons of pictures!!!
No blow day today here! It was an absolutely gorgeous day to be fishing, we had 13 boats go out Monday morning! The total count was 103 White Marlin and a Blue Marlin release overall for the Billfish. Pretty sick fishing right now! The top boat had 19 flags flying on their riggers. A couple boats did get a nice turn on the dolphin but for the most part everyone was giving the Marlin bite a try. Now is the time to get that Make-Up trip with your buddy and go see what its all about. You have a better chance than ever to catch a billfish if you have never caught one. Grab your polarized fishing glasses and come witness the bait balls and cutters light up the Bluewater! A "cutter" is usually a school of White Marlin or Sailfish that are lit up and actually cutting through a ball of bait with their bill's. When the feeding frenzy is on they are practically jumping out of the water and you see their fin's slicing through the ripples in the water left and right. If you've never seen it before then now is the time, you'll be hooked for life. Blue Marlin do it too but to see that many Blue Marin in one area is kind of rare. You would usually see a Blue one snacking on a pod of dolphin somewhere instead which is even better to witness. Right now the action is right outside our window, even Inshore and Nearshore. Nearshore they have been catching excellent Bluefish and a few nice Spanish, yummy Triggerfish, Drum and Cobia's. Inshore are steady finding the Speckled Trout, perfect Puppy Drum, Spinner Sharks, Cobia's, and even a nice Flounder or two. We have Fly Fishing boats that go for the same things as well. This is our season for the inshore slams right now, Speckles, Puppy Drum and Flounder. We've got it all right down the road in Nags Head on Hwy 12 right before you hit the base of Herbert C. Bonner Bridge (otherwise known as the Oregon Inlet Bridge) on your way to Hatteras! Get down here before you go home and let us put you on some fish. Its never to late to try. If you are up this morning call our lovely booking desk girls and see what trips are available. Offshore trips must be booked the night before, we have 20 Offshore boats fishing today, 5 Nearshore AM 4 Inshore AM, 1 All Day Inshore, and a handful of PM Inshore and Nearshore PM trips already going today. SO rise and shine if you want to snag yourself an AM or PM trip before they are sold out. Call 252.441.6301 or better yet come down and see us! Our AM trips get in at 11-11:30 and PM trips leave at 12. Its going to be a pretty day, Take advantage of it!!!
Here's a couple pictures of our Inshore's and Nearshore's that we wanted to share with you. Let the pictures speak for themselves. This is some really great fishing we are enjoying, we would love to show you first hand. Give us a call 252.441.6301 or book your trips conveniently online by clicking back to the homepage! Also do not forget our Facebook Oregon Inlet Fishing Center "Like" page, there you will see plenty of pictures from each day to give you a better idea of things. Follow us on Twitter @FISHOIFC to get the latest updates and to see when our boats start coming in! We will do our best to fill you in on the latest and greatest fishing report. Enjoy!!!
Well today was another SCORE! We had ANOTHER 103 Whitey's caught today!!! So crazy! Today was a little different than yesterday due to the fact we had some Tunas show up in the mix. Tuna's and Gaffer Dolphin and even a nice Wahoo! Also there was sight of an 800 Lb Marlin being caught, which is no surprise to hear since there were so many Marlin snacks swimming around. Inshore is red hot on the Speckled Trout and even had a few Cobia sightings today. Perfect!!! The Bluefish are consistent with our Nearshore boats right now. Some of the prettiest Bluefish we have seen all year are being caught right now. Don't hesitate to book your trips the end of the week gets filled in quickly and you don't want to miss out! Marlin fishing is INSANE right now so LETS GO MARLIN FISHINGGGGG!!!!! Tunas, Dolphins, and Wahoo hang out with the same crowd so LETS GO FISHING!!! Call us when you wipe the sleep out of your eyes and we will rig you up with a fishing trip or a Make-up trip! Make-Ups are 292$ per person!!! 252.441.6301 or 1.800.272-5199! Or BOOK ON-LINE!!! Have a great night everyone!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS. DIANNE TILLETT!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!
Another correction, we had 11 charter boats and 1 private boat fish Offshore on Friday. Boats returned with White Marlin counts of 12, 11, 10, 7 plus a Blue, 5 plus a Sail, 3, 3, 3, 2 plus a limit of dolphin, 2, 1 plus a Blue and 1 plus a limit of dolphin. Overall pretty good fishing considering there were 60+ Tournament boats fishing beside everyone out there. Yes, the tournament guys drove right back to where we are fishing, because they are allowed to fish within 100 miles! As far as the tournament ranking right now, one of our boats the Bi-Op-Sea is holding 3rd place with a grand total of 16 white marlins caught in 2 days- 6 white Marlin and a Blue Marlin the first day and 9 Whites on Friday! The boat in the lead holding First place is the Tarheel-with Captain John Bayliss and his son little John of Bayliss Boatworks here in Wanchese with 9 Whites on Thursday and 13 Friday, total count of 22 fish for their 2 days. They said he caught 8 fish within the first 30 Minutes!!! Great Job guys!!!Pretty impressive fishing going on right now, and its only going to keep showing more numbers. We have trips available this week coming up but the days are filling in so do not wait to reserve your date. This morning the wind picked up a little so we will see how many boats make it out. Inshore and Nearshore are snagging some of the prettiest Bluefish we have seen all summer! Also Triggerfish and limits of Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum. Even the Miss Oregon Inlet has been bringing home Gray Trout and Flounder. Thursday a man caught a 21" keeper Flounder which was the biggest one so far. School starts Monday so hop on board with us and try to pretend that the summer is never going to end, you have 2 days! The Miss O.I. doesn't fish on Sundays but we have boats available Inshore and Nearshore so just give us a call at 252.441.6301 or book online. We will be in the office at 5am this morning! Get your groups together and we will see you at the dock! Have a great day!
Sorry guys there were no boats to report today... Everyone rescheduled their trips... I would love to give you the results of the VBBT but I don't have them still so check back tomorrow for some pictures and info. Call us 7 days a week to book a trip, we are ready to roll! Have a great night!!! 252.441.6301 or 1.800.272.5199
This Morning was filled with some thick first class fish. We had Bluefish that were some of the best ones we have had this summer and a few Spanish Mackerels thrown in that were just as meaty. Inshore had great Speckled Trout again and even a couple Cobia's! The weather was exceptionally hot this morning so we all knew it was coming, The rain is definitely here. Thunder is booming all around and the sky is a few shades of gray! Its a wet one out there so don't leave your rain gear at home! We are supposed to be having a cold front come through this weekend sometime but with every cold front it is undetermined what the temps will drop to. We were in the upper 80s this morning so hopefully it wont be too dramatic of a change. We still have a teenie little bit of summer left before MONDAY! Dare County Schools go back to school on Monday along with many more on the East Coast. The fishing is here so keep it in the back of your mind that you should take a weekend trip to get in on this action! We are just getting fired up! The VBBT Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament has 8 of our boats fishing and today is their last day. We have heard that there were a ridiculous amount of fish caught within the first HOUR of the tourney today. That's GREAT!!! There have been updates all day but we are waiting for the official results that will come in after all the boats have gotten back in. We have a lot of local boats including our own that are placing right now so we are hyped up and rooting for them! You could get a chance in a lifetime right now to see more billfish than ever so book as soon as you and your buddies get a date together! Inshore and Nearshore are going to be going all through the weekend too, If I could get out there I would be......................................long gone! Get on the phone as soon as you can and talk to us about fishing! 252.441.6301 or toll free 1.800.272.5199
Check back for our Offshore boats, its raining too hard to take a picture of the PM trips that just came in.. but we will report what they had next. Keep up with us on Facebook and Twitter @FISHOIFC! If you want to see any of your pictures that have been taken down here make sure you get on our "Facebook Like page" PLEASE Tag yourselves, save your pictures, and SHARE Them with your family and friends! That's what they are there for! YOU!!!! Stay dry my friends!
How bout them Bluefish this morning?!? Yesterday were Mackerels and today we had some bigger class Blues. Inshore had bags and buckets of their limit of Speckled Trout and a couple beautiful Puppy Drum. Those fish never lose their color and are just so ridiculously pretty. Puppy Drum are a smaller version of a Red Drum and you can keep a Puppy Drum as long as they are in between 18 inches and 27 inches Total Length. Total Length means you have to compress the fish's tail when you measure. Only one per day so remember that if you ever catch one! Its the law! The Nearshore guys had some Triggerfish along with their Bluefish. The Miss Oregon Inlet has been getting their fish cleaned the last couple days, some nice Gray Trout (which have to be 12"TL) and Sea Mullet & Bluefish. It was such a pretty morning again today! All of us here just waved everyone goodbye as they went back out fishing, and then we went and put our heads down and CRIEEDDDD. Call us if you want to make us jealous tomorrow... DO IT DO IT!!!!! 252.441.6301 or 1.800.272.5199
We are booking Make-Up trips ALLLLLL DAYYYYYY Don't forget! ;)
