Poacher Sportfishing offers a variety of near-shore charter fishing trips to fit your needs. From the calm waters of the sound to the deep water ocean wrecks, I can provide you with the quality fishing experience you are searching for. Cobia, amberjacks, sharks, red drum, spanish mackerel and bluefish are all common catches while out with us. I have successfully guided clients to state records as well as tournament wins. Devin still holds the North Carolina striped bass state record.

From sight casting to trolling, live-baiting to deep jigging, chumming to bottom fishing, we have the tackle and the expertise to guide you to a successful trip.

The Poacher is a 42 foot sportfisher powered by a 450 horsepower Cummins diesel engine. The plush, enclosed cabin includes a microwave, sun shade and other amenities. The Poacher is loaded with the finest tackle for your fishing needs along with modern navigation and communication electronics and 42 mile Furuno radar.

The Captain
Capt.Cage has 33 years of professional fishing experience and has been a licensed captain since 1987. He has successfully guided clients to several state records and tournament wins. He turned 21 on the famous North Drop in St.Thomas while working on a charter boat targeting blue marlin. His travels while working as a professional fisherman have taken him to Africa, Virgin Islands, Mexico, Costa Rica, Bahamas,Panama, Fla, MD, VA and NC. He has held many state records for a variety of fish and still maintains the North Carolina state record set in 2011 for striped bass weighing in at 64 lbs.
