FISHING REPORT 07-04-17
What a fabulous way to celebrate Independence Day -- out on the water with the captains from the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center!! The weather was beautiful and the reel action was fantastic!! Just ask Hunter Huggins who earned a trophy citation for a monster blue marlin release today! Congrats and awesome work!
Not a great many boats out today. Anglers venturing out did tell us it was a bit of scrappy fishing but they managed to put some meat in the boxes, pulling in yellow-fin and some nice mahi!
Near-Shore fishing had some great king mackerel catches today, with some anglers catching their limit! There was also good spanish mackerel fishing today, as well.
In-Shore anglers were seeing some good grey trout, spanish macs, and drum today.
Anglers aboard the Miss Oregon Inlet saw some good numbers of grey trout, croakers, pinfish, pigfish, pufferfish, and some flounder.
