ALWAYS SOME SUNSHINE SOMEWHERE
Today was check out day on the Outer Banks, and Check-in day for the weekend fishermen. There were no parking places available at the boat ramp and every offshore boat was gone. Our Inshore boats were back and forth with their AM and PM trips, and they said it was an absolutely gorgeous day on the water today. It was kind of a strange day. There was rain in the morning and the water was still a little choppy, but then it evened itself right out and the sun came out and the water stood still inland. Today was much more of a challenge for our gulfstream guys because the boat population was doubled, if not tripled out there. The AM and PM trips for inshore returned today with some pretty catches of Spanish Mackerels, a couple Bluefish, some Cobias!, and a nearshore boat got a healthy catch of 32 Triggerfish, a few Black Sea bass and even a gaffer! Our Offshore fleet came home today at the normal times with some meat slams, (tuna, wahoo, gaffer dolphin) and a couple billfish releases. There were only Wahoo citations turned in today for a 45, 46, and a 47 lb fish! Two of which were caught by one cute lady angler! They were bigger than she was!! The headboat went out this morning and had tons of action it sounded like, some flounder, sea mullet, croakers, a little mixed assortment of fish. They are not fishing on Sunday but if you can get on the boat next week you should try it out and bring the kids! Captain Jerry and his loyal crew are ready to go 6 days a week so reserve your tickets online today! Inshore AM and PM trips are available and don't forget our Nearshore trips that go a little further out than the beach. It would be a great half day or full day adventure for the right group of folks. Offshore boats are steadily filling in their books so if you want a date you need to call in now and put down your deposit! Once they are booked up there are not as many chances to get what you want!
