The winds and waves played a mean game of "keep away" today and kept the off-shore boats home.
Near-Shore anglers ventured out this morning and returned in with good numbers of blues and spanish macs.
In-Shore anglers had a good afternoon of fishing in the sound, enjoying a triple hook-up of keeper red drum! There were also good numbers of speckled trout as well.

Anglers arrived at the docks with the fish boxes loaded. The catch included limits of Yellow Fin Tuna on many of the charters. They also had limits of Dolphin. The Billfish are still fighting. We had Blue Marlin and White Marlin caught and released. Congratulations to Stephen Morris who landed a nice Blue Marlin. Congratulations also go out to Shawn Weed, Rodger Nelson and Ryan Everly on their White Marlin conquers! We had a GRAND SLAM on one of the charters, with a Blue Marlin, White Marlin and a Sailfish! Near Shore had a somewhat slow day but they did manage to bring in a good number of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. The Inshore boats fishing today had catches of Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. The Miss Oregon Inlet will be fishing tomorrow morning. The Offshore charters had a little bit of a bumpy ride today. The fishing, however, was excellent again. The docks were full of nice fat Yellow Fin Tuna; some of the boats bringing in their limits. The anglers also were blessed with some nice Dolphin; many boats bringing in their limits and Black Fin Tuna. Doug Fitzgerald caught a beautiful Citation Dolphin; it weighed in at 41 pounds! Quite a few billfish were caught and released. Gregg Thompson, Dean Waters and James Johnson reeled in Blue Marlin. The White Marlin that were caught and released were reeled in by Gregg Thompson, Russell Holcomb, Doug Fitzgerald, Andrew Moeslein, Jay Epstein, Gary Wojciechowski, Casey Wojciechowski, Kyle Tolla, Nathan Woods, Westley Decker and Matthew Weyer. We also had Sailfish flags flying this afternoon. Jane Schlosser and Gary Sajko caught and released Sailfish. We had a catch of a Swordfish also; it was caught by Westley Decker! We had a few Near Shore charters that fished today. They are catching a good number of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. They are also bringing in Albacore. The In Shore boats had a good day. Today, a beautiful and a great day of fishing. We had lots of blue marlins, white marlins and sail fish releases. We caught limits of dolphin, yellow and blackfin tunas and some wahoo. A little overcast weather makes for excellent fishing out of Oregon Inlet. The Offshore fleet had an excellent day. The docks were full of Yellow Fin Tuna. Most of our charters brought in either limits of Yellow Fin or close to their limits. They also caught quite a few Black Fin Tuna and Dolphin. John Morgen reeled in a nice Citation Dolphin at 35 pounds. The Wahoo fishing was terrific! We had several Citation Wahoo caught; one was brought in by Ronald Willett. Ronald reeled in a 43 pounder. Douglas Whaley caught a nice 53 pound Wahoo. Taylor Schmidt also had a nice Citation Wahoo, which weighed in at over 41 pounds. Congratulations guys! Lenny Mancuso and his fishing party caught and released quite a few White Marlin and Blue Marlin. Lenny caught both White and Blue Citation Marlin. Near Shore charter boats filled the fish boxes with Spanish Mackerel, Albacore and Bluefish. The In Shore anglers also had a great day of fishing. The Speckled Trout were gorgeous. Thank you to the Veterans from the Combat Warrier Project who fished with us today on the Qualifier and Outer Limits. Both charters brought in a bounty of Yellow Fin Tuna! Today was an awesome tuna day at Oregon-inlet.com. Our off shore boats caught limits of yellowfin, limits of dolphins and blackfin. We had 5 yellowdfins that weighed 70 plus lbs. We also had a 98 lb. big eye tuna and 4-5 wahoos. Great going guys. We had a total of about 60 bill fish, mostly sail fish with a few blue and white mixed in. Our near shore boats had great Spanish mackerel and blue fish, along with albacores. Our in shore boats had great speckled trout and released red drum.

What another gorgeous Outer Banks day!! The captains are happy happy happy to be back fishing! Anglers off-shore demonstrated some skill at the reel today pulling in more than 40 white marlin and near limits of dolphin on several boats. There were also some yellow-fin and black-fin tuna as well as a 52 pound wahoo!. All in all, a good day!
