Some girthy yellow-fin tuna filled just about every box today and lots of tuna weighing more than 50 pounds each! There were also some very nice wahoo and a few mahi being laid out on the dock!
Anglers Near-Shore were pulling in some amazing kings, spanish, tiles, and triggers today! The fish are nice size and weight and are putting up some good fights on the end of the line!
In-Shore captains found some good speckeled trout for their anglers as well as look-downs, triggers, and spanish. There were a few flounders on the hook, too!
Anglers on both trips aboard the Miss Oregon Inlet encountered a little slow fishing at the start, but the reel action picked up not long into the trip. Congrats to Matthew Clark for his white marlin release, to Sofia Darnall for his white marlin release, and to Grayson Middleton for his blue marlin release! Super work!! Near-Shore anglers had some great fishing today, pulling in some nice drum, spanish macs, and black sea bass. But, the big story is the return of cobia, with anglers pulling in a few keepers today!

A beautiful return to the water today, for sure!! Boats were returning to the docks by 11:30 a.m. with limits of yellow-fin tuna, some trophy citation big-eye tunas, and some wahoo and mahi! Anglers on the Near Shore enjoyed some excellent spanish mac fishing again today, with good numbers of bluefish as well. But, the big story is about an epic battle between some youngsters and a great white, estimated weight between 800-1000 lbs! These anglers will have quite the story and they were HAPPY that this one got away!
Anglers on the In Shore trips also had another great day of fishing, hauling in speckled trout, flounder, sea mullet, drum, and spanish macs. Spanish and specks had some really nice weights coming across the scales, not quite trophy citation, but still plenty of good eatin'!!

Tuesday was quite the wild weather day! Bright and sunny at sunrise then overcast then torrential downpours, then bright and sunny! Welcome to the Outer Banks where it's not "wait 5 minutes and the weather will change" it's "wait a second". But, the fishin's good!! Boats brought in some really good numbers of very nice yellow-fin tuna, including trophy citations for Cameran Hitchen - 71 lb, Jordan Biggs - 72 lb, and Will Smithson - 78 lb. Luke Lapierre brought in a chunky big-eye, weighing in at 138 lbs and earning him a trophy citation, as well. And, let's talk about some wahoo! There were some nice ones crossing the scales, with Brad Chapman earning a trophy citation for his 42 lb prize! Great work! There were also good numbers of mahi and some billfish releases.
There were also some good catches coming off of the Near-Shore boats, as well. It was a mixed bag coming into the fishboxes. Anglers pulled in spanish macs, bluefish, and triggers.
Anglers In-Shore had some good reel action, with some catches of very nice speckled trout, flounder, and drum. The weights on the specks have been pretty impressive this year compared to last and with good numbers also.

Thursday seemed to produce a few epic battles - some with great tuna and some with the sharks. A few great trophy citations made it in the fishbox, including Gordon LaPorte's 43 lb mahi, Kenneth Nelson's 148 lb big-eye, and Robert McCullough's 134 lb big-eye! Great work!

There is always a beautiful view from the office window for our captains, and this morning was no exception! The tuna frenzy started early again today with anglers landing some really nice ones, with a few making trophy citation weight. Congrats to J.D. Esh for his 73 pound haul, to Tate Hall for a 72.01 pound haul, and to Kevin Eller for a 76 pound chunker with a girth of 37"! But, the big catch by Richard Fox, weighing in at 112 pounds steals the show! Nice work. Anglers also brought in good numbers of mahi as well and also released some marlin. Congrats to Charles Abel and Kelly Esh on earning trophy citations today for white marlin releases! Super job!
Anglers Near-Shore also had interesting fishing today. Good catches of spanish macs, sea mullet, and some serious hunts for cobia were happening today. One young angler was having a blast pulling in over 25 pinfish on his ocean/sound adventure!
