New Captain and boat owner Chris Kubik quickly made his way to the top of the leaderboard on Day 1 and remained there through the final weigh-in on Day 4. His team secured the top boat of the week, first place overall, first place tuna (69.8 pounds), first place in the Day One daily and jackpot and second place in the Day Two daily.
Veteran Captain Arch Bracher soared to secure the 2nd spot on the leaderboard. The team won second place boat and overall points, plus first place in Day Two daily standings and jackpot for 17 white marlin releases.
New Captain Chris Gornell sailed into the 3rd place spot early on and his team secured the finish with 15 billfish releases.
Veteran Captain Charles Haywood rounded out the top 5 group with a solid 5th place finish for 13 billfish releases.
We also want to recognize Brown Gaddy, son of Captain Fin Gaddy of the Qualifier, for earning Top Jr. Angler with 250 points for his billfish releases! Awesome work!

Fresh off of the fast-paced billfish tournament circuit over the last week, we had quite a few captains putting anglers on the fish today! Anglers were pulling in some billfish to earn some trophy citations as well as some nice meat fish today. Congrats to the anglers releasing billfish today: Asen Dinen - white marlin; Richard Fields - white marlin; Patrick Horsley - white marlin; Vasile Calin - blue marlin; Sean DeFeo - blue marlin; Anthony Kincaid - sailfish. Anglers also pulled in some good numbers of mahi, black-fin, yellow-fin, and wahoo!
Anglers in the Near-Shore enjoyed good triggerfish, king macs, spanish macs, and a few bluefish today. There were also some catches of cobia and other varieties today.
Anglers in the In-Shore continue to enjoy good speckled trout, drum, and more! Catches are being brought in on fly and light tackle.

Yet another banner day!! Several boats were sporting flags upon their arrival to the docks this afternoon! Congrats to Chester Pawlowski, Jeffrey White, and to Anthony Whitehurst, for sailfish releases. Congrats to Joshua Anderson and Matthew Thomas for white marlin releases. Congrats to Carol Whitehurst for a blue marlin release, earning her group a GRAND SLAM today! Nice work!! Other anglers enjoyed catches of yellow-fin, black-fin, mahi, and wahoo, including this 53 lb whopper, pulled in by Rhonda. Congrats!!
Anglers fishing with In-Shore captains had another stellar day of speckled trout fishing, hauling in some amazing keepers destined for a dinner plate! There were also some drum in the slot size and cobia catches, as well.

Have you ever seen such good speckled trout fishing?! These kids enjoyed a great day of fishing on an In-Shore boat, catching great numbers of specks, keeping only what they were allowed, and releasing nearly 3 times more! They enjoyed fishing and catching these beauties on light tackle, too!! Great experience=great memories!
Anglers Near-Shore had catches of tilefish, spanish macs, bluefish, and drum. Several anglers enjoyed catching good numbers of triggerfish and few king macs, today.
The Miss Oregon Inlet anglers are still catching the flounder in good numbers today! They also enjoyed catches of grey trout, sea mullet, croaker, spot, puffers, and pinfish.
Anglers in the gulf-stream enjoyed some good billfish action today, with one boat bringing in a 627 lb blue marlin! Other catches include good numbers of mahi, some black-fin, and yellow-fin, as well as a couple of amazing wahoo!

Check out the In-Shore boats on all-day trips today!! Angler Derek Allen pulled in a trophy citation tilefish weighing in at 14 lbs! Nice job! White marlin any length counts and congrats to Jeff Allen for his white marlin release!! There were also some red drum releases not quite long enough for the trophy citation, but definitely some exciting reel action just the same! Anglers also enjoyed catches of speckled trout on fly rod and spinning rod, again today!
Anglers Near-Shore also had some red drum releases, as well as good spanish macs, bluefish, and triggerfish. There are also a few albacore and a few tilefish being brought in.

Yesterday was a no go with one of those lovely weather patterns the Outer Banks is known for. Today, however, produced some pretty good billfish catches, some yellow-fin tuna, black-fin tuna, and big-eye tuna. Maybe these odd patterns are responsible for the uptick in wahoo catches this season. Congrats to Tighe Watson for an amazing 51 lb beauty destined for the dinner plate! They were ready to fish and ready to win some great prizes! Thanks to all who participated and all proceeds benefit Cross Trail Outfitters, a local non-profit dedicated to providing positive hunting and fishing experiences for youths of all backgrounds.
